Re: RL Achievements and ToW

Yesterday's snow here was really light and powdery, impossible to make snowballs from- it just wouldn't stick together. So when I was waiting at the bus stop I wrote "Daisy" in the snow on the wooden bench instead. (I'm too chicken to write my real name!). Today it was sticking together. T...

Re: Advent Calendar Y11!

So, I'm the only one that actually went "Awww, poor unloved Meuka?" Don't care for the prize, but this simple animation made me lol. No, as Jessi said, it made me nauseous. I'm hoping for a gwontek melon and some sort of "snow covered" pair of round melons. That will make me hap...

Re: Advent Calendar Y11!

Mistletoe has white berries... I think TNT drew holly instead.

Also, we've had barf, now we've got snot- what's next? Dung? Can the bodily fluids end now, please?

Re: Advent Calendar Y11!

I thought the wreath on the wheel was barf...

The animation was quite clever today, and it made sense- I knew what would happen as soon as I saw the warf captain. I'm glad they didn't show any of them actually throwing up.

Re: 1st Look at the new "Magma" Pets: Magma Xweetok!

I'm not going to try and review any pets in detail yet, but as a first thought, what strikes me most is the sheer variability between the pets, from the very on-fire Nimmo to the very plain Ruki and a lot of pets in between. I would have expected that if all the pets were drawn at once, they would h...

Re: Atlas of the ancients

The problem with any kind of "people who are first" measuring system is that it excludes almost everyone in timezones where it's not waking time. Not even the most ardent player could be expected to stay up until 4am to play when they needed to be up at 7am for work or school. Typically, i...

Re: Biscuit Wocky

Welsh is pushing it a bit, i think. After all, "biscuit" is not a Welsh word. (Yes, Adam and Donna were born in Wales, but the heritage of the site is more generally British, than Welsh, I think). I think if anyone is confused, they only have to look up biscuit on Wikipedia or in an online...

Re: Neocolours Holiday Card Exchange 2009!

I posted most of mine yesterday, including all the ones going abroad. I had planned to put a return address on the back (though I don't normally) using a neat stamp thing we have. Only I forgot. So if a card goes astray, there is no way I will find out.

Re: Secret Santa- signups closed

I've PM'ed all of my bracket- they were rather long, so I hope they made sense. If not, tell me! It occurred to me that just in case, it would be a good idea to tell everyone about the NCSS LJ community here . It's really only needed in case the forums go down at a critical time, so fingers crossed ...

Re: Atlas of the ancients

I got the silver trophy. I don't think it was very fair to suggest that if you didn't get all of the items, you would still be able to finish, because it did affect your final outcome. I didn't get all of the items from the pipe fixing because I was away for the weekend and it was over by the time I...

Re: Forum upgrade and possible glitches

I think signatures weren't separated by a horizontal rule before? So that on short posts, they might be next to the bottom of the box with the av and other information about the poster, instead of being forced to be below it. They seem to take up more space now,, anyway. I think I would prefer an al...

Re: Secret Santa- signups closed

Progress report! I've sent out PMs to my bracket asking for updated wishlists- I would be very grateful if these could be finished as soon as possible- as will be the person buying for you! Of course, you can keep adding items to your wishlist if you like (though they might be too late for the perso...

Re: Games Master Challenge 2009

Trust me, you got the better deal with the sponsor games. Although they might be crappy and you have to read the instructions to find out how to play (because chances are most people hadn't played them before), most of the challenges could be completed with much less effort and skill. 3x1700 points ...

Re: Games Master Challenge 2009

36/40 for me. I managed to do Barf Boat (yuck, but eventually got there) for 35 and then I tried Super Hasee Bounce and got it first time. I wasn't expecting to be able to do it, as I played it quite a bit when it first came out and so I thought my high score of 700ish would be the best I could do. ...
