Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
Um, so they snuck in Gelert Day with the news that would have been on last week: http://www.neopets.com/nf.phtml?nf_date=2015-03-02
The images are broken and they are not at the Rainbow Pool. I'll update this when they do.

"You should see my backward grappling skills!"

Re: Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
I think the "Layoffs at Neopets" thread covers it pretty well. To be honest, though, the "not-showing-up-at-the-Rainbow-Pool" bit is hardly new; it's happened a couple times before. It's the broken images in the news that are new.Madge wrote:I am so confused. This is really bizarre. WHy is this happening????????????????

But why bother posting at all if there are no pictures, that's what I mean. It just makes them look MORE incompetant?

My best guess is they're doing it in a delusional attempt to stop all the angry shouts they've been getting at the Facebook pages and save face. Sort of "see, we care, here's stuff!"Madge wrote:But why bother posting at all if there are no pictures, that's what I mean. It just makes them look MORE incompetant?

No no, it's obvious that TNT just misnamed the files. We actually got two different invisible Gelerts this year.
Re: Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
I can't help but wonder how many more new colours they'll bring out on pet days. Maybe these Gelerts will even be the last ones.
It's not like they can make money from bringing out new colours, after all.

Re: Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
I think they can make money from new colours, but indirectly - say I like the new pastel gelert but my current customisation set doesn't match those colours, I need to buy a whole new outfit! And the 200NC background in the mall matches perfectly! Or the 150NC hat matches the Stealthy Gelert's outfit perfectly!
I think anything that encourages users to modify their pets' customisation is a potential moneymaker.

Re: Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
For those that are watching this thread, the Stealthy Gelert is at the Rainbow Pool, albeit without clothes. The Pastel is still not there yet.

Re: Pastel and Stealthy Gelert
Woah, dude. I never checked back here for the actual stealthy gelert. That is one fine looking pet, those clothes are awesome. I haven't felt excited about a pet in a long time, but that looks like a character I want to own!
Are gelert ears and tails prehensile enough to make use of having blades on the end? I'm not really sure I care, I'm having flashbacks to Hork Bajir and Andalite blade battles and I like it.
