Looking at the rainbow jetsam, it *should* be something I quite like - the colours are bright, they blend together well, and they made its belly a lighter rainbow rather than making it cream or whatever colour bellies tend to be these days.
However, I don't like it. I think it's probably because the Jetsam is so flat and outdated. Which is a pity, because the colour scheme and colours used on it mean that it *should* be a damn good rainbow pet, but instead it's mediocre.
As for Tyrannian, it looks more like a mutant really, but at least it's not furry.

Tyrannian... it's working for me. The shading and bumps are giving a nice 3D feel to it. And the colouring reminds me of one of my favourite items on Neo:
The only thing is circle and happy pose feel a inferior to other poses (a lot - the poses are somehow off) so I'm probably not getting one.
Rainbow is nicely done, but colours are a bit too bright for my taste.

Wow, the Tyrannian's head is huge. o_O Though I guess all Jetsams are pretty much all head anyway, it's just more noticeable on this pet for some reason. Still, it's kinda cool; does look more Mutanty than anything but it's a pretty neat design and the beaten pose is so disturbingly clever. Popped zits, eeeww.
Rainbow looks a little... off to me. Probably just the outdated art, though. :/

Look ma, no revamp! That what's usually a dinosaur makes for a better shark than the actual shark Neopet is ridiculous. So, aside from the fact that they haven't taken the time to start a revamp, lord knows they'd have enough time to finish given that they can take 3 weeks per color, we get a tyrannian one that looks more like a rotten sabertooth pickle. As Mr. Black suggested, it could have been based off of any real shark and would still be prehistoric by default.

I agree 100%. I have never been a fan of the "make it uglier and stupider looking" tactic in creating Tyrannian pets.AngharadTy wrote:Given how much I love paleontology, Tyrannian pets tend to be disappointing, and this is no exception. It's very Flintstones. I suppose some people must like that. Not my taste, though.

Rainbow has horrible color transitions, just... nothing impressive whatsoever. The Tyrannian is just... ew. No. Ew forever. There's shiney bulgey cartoony bits, horrible bursting mutant wartbumps, and... huh? A sabre-toothed SHARK? They don't even have definite canines, that's a largely mammalian trait.
Not that I'm expecting Neo to bust out the biology degrees or anything, especially for made-up animals, but come on. Have a little common sense.
