I downloaded some new hair styles, skins colors, eye colors, makeup and clothes for the Sims 2. I go into the body shop and none of the new stuff is showing up, yet the things I downloaded is in the Downloads folder.
How do I get the new stuff to show up?

will someone please call a surgeon; who can crack my ribs and repair this broken heart
Did you make sure that the downloads were compatible with your version of the game? I don't know if it makes a difference with things like hair and skins, but it might. Also, are you looking under the 'custom' section of hairs?
Sometimes things show up in the game when they don't show up in bodyshop, at least for me.
But check out the FAQ section of Modthesims2. It's the best downloading site and should be able to help better than I can. I've never had issues with things not showing up.

Do they show up in game? If not you need to enable custom content

Oh and also make sure you have the Color Enable Package installed too. Otherwise Custom content will either overwrite originals or just not show up at all.

Re:
It never makes a difference with skins, but it can with hairstyles: custom hairstyles may be based on meshes that come with a particular expansion pack, and will therefore not work in the absence of those meshes. It doesn't sound like that's what's happening here, though. Linzie, check out this wiki article.Figment wrote:Did you make sure that the downloads were compatible with your version of the game?
