Pokémon;; Do I or Don't I?

Post by checkers »

Just caught my Shiny Staryu, originally was going for a non-shiny but then shockingly found a shiny.

Do I evolve the Staryu??

Wow. Congratulations. If I were you, I would wait for D/P and trade it over to me for my shining Dustox or Tentacruel. If not, I'd train it, then evolve it. It's shininess is obvious, and the red and blue go together quite nicely. Better than the grey, blue, and yellow of the Staryu, if you ask me. Plus Starmie makes an awsome BoltBeamer.

The only real shiny Pokémon I have are Shiny Bagon, Rhydon and was close to a Togepi.

~ Thanks for the offer though, I'll talk to you on D/P? ^^
I need to get a DS first, stupid one console game :P

Pfft, whatever ya know? xD I'll evolve it :)

Yeah, if you ever get a DS, when D/P comes out, we can talk stuff on it.

... You suck! XD
Starmie is one of my favorite Pokemon, I'd love to get a shiny version of it. ;_;

I'd say evolve it if you actually plan to use it in battle. Starmie is really useful and can learn a good variety of moves.

Evolve...well, when it learns Hydro Pump as a Staryu. Because Starmies don't learn anything but Confuse Ray after you evolve 'em.

Better stats, better shinyness, just wait till it learns Hydro Pump at Lv.40-something.

I have actually never seen a shiny even once, and I've played every generation thus far.

I've never seen a shiny, either, and I've played Crystal and all other games since that.

Red Gyarados does not count. Everyone can get him.

I've had a couple shinies. I can remember my farfetch'd and venonat, though I might have had others. My brother stole my venonat and had a pretty blue venomoth for his team for a while...

I'm still waiting for one on both my Leaf Green and Sapphire, which is kind of irritating. Some over 70 hours on each, and still nothing?

Though, if anyone has seen one on either of those versions, do you know if they flash, like they did in G/S/C? I have the sickening feeling they don't and that I just haven't looked hard enough at the Pokemon I battle...

I know they shine for sure in Ruby. They do this glittery thing, kinda like a loop of sparkles.

I've been pretty lucky with catching shinies. On Ruby I have a shiny Flygon that I caught and trained, because I have a few teams of dragon types on that version. I've also got a shiny Whismur that just hangs out in my box. On Crystal I had a shiny Pidgeotto and Golbat. Gold I ended up with two shiny Goldeens, weirdly enough. None on any other versions that I can recall right now.
