Considering they are treating this game as the last in the series the roster is a pretty huge disappointment. I've always a lot most of my choices wouldn't make it in but some of them had a pretty good chance. This roster really seems half finished. I'm sure they'll make up for it with stickers/trophy/music references, but still.. underwhelming.

I would have absolutely preferred it if some of melee's hidden characters were playable from the start (like they did with ness and falcon from the original) and had Pit, Olimar, Wario, Trainer etc be the unlockables.

I'm going to go sulk now.

Oh well, I got almost every other character I really wanted (and there are some EBA stickers and trophies so yeah). >_> I'm sad there's apparently no more Mewtwo, but Lucario looks like he'll be pretty fun. And Ness looks AWESOME <3

Dedede's in. Just a chance to play as the big King himself makes me happy Brawl's out. Heck, make everything related to Kirby and call it Dedede's Dreamland, I'd buy it!

I usually play as Pikachu (occasionally Yoshi), so I didn't really care who got added to the roster... but there are some cool characters on there, so maybe I'll branch out and try some new ones this time! I haven't played a Smash Bros. game extensively since the N64, though. I was damn good at that one... I have fond memories of kicking all my little brothers' friends' asses as Pikachu during a birthday party one year. I barely touched the GameCube one, as playing with my brother is an exercise in frustration -- he's way too good and kills me immediately. I'm so out of practice when it comes to video games!

I'm not entirely convinced that the complete roster has been revealed. All the characters you unlock through the SSE have been revealed, but adventure mode isn't necessarily the only way to unlock characters. In melee, you unlocked Mewtwo after a certain number of hours of gameplay and Game & Watch was after you completed every target test, wasn't he?

From what I've seen of Japanese footage, pretty much everyone has just been playing through the SSE. With the amount of other features and modes this game has, I really doubt that there's only one area where you can unlock new characters. The game has only officially been out for a day; I think we need to give it at least a couple more days to see what else people find. Like Kidnemo said, they're essentially treating this smash brothers game as the last, so I don't think they'd set it up in a way such that you can unlock every secret character in a matter of hours.

On topic; I'm a bit happier with this game now, hell I know it'll be fucking awesome, the starting roster+Jiggs is sweet enough for me. And it has an ELECTROPLANKTON STAGE! wow.

I'm a bit concerned about the small number of confirmed ATs but Luigi's FS makes up for that... right?

People got the "You've unlocked all characters" after hitting 35 and All-Star mode has 35 characters. Almost all the characters are unlocked in SSE mode except for Toon Link, Wolf, and Jigglypuff
