Misticpets - Brand spanking new petsite

Sorry to bump an old topic, but I think this warrants an update... Misticpets has really begun adding some interesting new things to the site, including a new redraw color and a crapload of nice colorfills for every pet. It seems for a limited time you can color your pets any of the new colorfills for cheap; check out the newspage! http://www.misticpets.com/news.php. There's also a chance of being awarded a Pandoria's box this week if you play the site (I guess it's to increase pageviews), but I haven't gotten any yet. The site is still small, and not many new games have been added, but I'm liking Misticpets the more I visit it now. (I'm gypsymaiden there, btw).

I'm currently more into Misticpets than Subeta at the moment. So far I've been impressed with the new Baby pets, and the Overgrown theme is promising, but those new colourfills... all the dark ones are black blobs on my stupid LCD monitor (they use an airbrushy shading technique that I once used before I realized how dark it appears on most people's monitors). Some colour schemes are pleasant, but they're not on species I own. Most of them just aren't done very well.

I joined (chaostrophy) and made some pets and am curious how to actually get the terror color. But I don't know how well I can split my attention span between pet sites.

(Also, this site makes Subeta seem to move at lightning speeds.)

I signed up a while ago (I'm Aaron over there) but I haven't played it really because I don't like the pet art. Some of the ideas for pets are good but the execution or shading is wrong. Oh and nearly everything seems the same for me, they're all like 'generic mystical looking creature'

There doesn't seem to be anything for the people who like the Kacheek or the Chai since nothing is really "cute".

I will say, however, that Overgrown is a colour I have been hoping to show up on either Neopets (although less so these days) or Subeta for a long time. It's a shame that the site that finally makes it is one I don't like.

You'll need a Terror Pandoria Box. However, no Pandoria Boxes are stocking at the moment, so the only way is through contests (they have art, writing, and poetry) and through random giveaways like the one going on now, where you just stay active and you may be randomly selected to win a random box. Lots of people have received boxes, but I haven't been one of them so far. ):

Oh, and the Inferno pets were just released a minute ago, but only two. This site shows every Inferno pet, so hopefully that means the less good ones are being held back for revamps (I'm looking at you, Tarinooki.)

Ohh some of the colors are really pretty! And I love how they gave us the option to change the pets into one of the 12 standard colors for 150mc a pet, three times a day.

Also, you can adopt more pets now! Last time I was on, you could only own up to three. The limit is now 5 pets

Hmm. I wish they'd introduce a way to change pet species, already. I love the Mericai on a character design level, but I have issues with the default line art, its recolors are boring, and its redraws so far fail to inspire me. The inferno Mericai is better than the others but also lacks any of the elements that draw me to the default one. I'm also not as in love with the Emperon now as I was when it was released. Should know better than to make pets when the species are new and shiny.

This is neck-and-neck with the baby Pteri and Buzz for best baby-type pet on any site ever. The Obsideon is cleverer, but this has bags of personality.

They don't allow you to direct-link to anything, Twofold, which is understandable, but really annoying when you're trying to show others why they should join.

Also, I can't find this Feron who changes colors, and I want to make my lemur thing nocturnal.

I found her right after posting... public bitching really does work.

I like some of the baby pets... they're not as offensively cutesy as Neo's babies or Subeta's chibis. However, no matter how nice the pets are, I am not going to enjoy this site until they give us a way to make real money. I spent ages playing that stupid card game a while back and I only have 35,000 MC.

Damn. I knew that, but I keep forgetting. Hugely irritating. Imagine, in the empty image box in my post above, something adorable. Of course, because the image is in my cache it displays correctly for me, so I had no warning.

Seconded. Lunapets' nonsensical quests are better than this. Not because I can't keep my pets fed and entertained (and how tedious is it to have to actually feed and entertain the damn things?) on what I make from contests and random events, but because I'm accustomed to having some serious funds and I get edgy when I don't.

The only pet I'd really want is limited edition, and I'm not impressed enough to wait around or figure out how to get one. :/
