Re: New Feature: Achievements
Hmm I still have the 25 achievement on my list with the prize there. That may be because I already had the achievement though?
I'm really happy to see that it has been keeping track though, I'd hate to lose those 10 or so restocks I've gotten since the achievement was completed.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
A whole slew of new achievements were released this week, including this baby:
For those who don't know what an Ether is right off the bat (like me), it's the 400 million sP weapon in the MC. You get a book in exchange for completing the achievement. Its just a little bit of sP...
Delete an Ether.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
Yeahhh... anyone else enjoying how the Achievement system has apparently become one big joke between Keith and the richest players on the site? Rather than taking the time to make achievements for things that actually require some sort of skill or patience (like filling your tile case, mystic spindles, dark matter dice...) the focus is on getting ridiculously unobtainable items. I guess on Subeta the biggest achievement is having so much money you don't have enough ways to waste it.
Having a Shinwas Sacred Bow, Malerias Staff of Destruction, Oracles Staff of Enlightenment, Wand of the Phoenix and Blackmoons Staff in your inventory at the same is an achievement in itself. Do you really need that little blue box to know you're rich? And if you're willing to delete a 400 million sp item then you haven't achieved anything other than being a colossal dumbass.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
I agree with that last line especially, Tophy. But hey, if people want to be dumbasses, I suppose I don't mind. It's not like they're taking my money to do so.
I'm irritated that they added even more achievements that are things I've already done and can't "prove" that I've done. The two lizard events made me slap my forehead and wince. And y'know, I bet you're all tired of hearing it, but dammit I am not going to re-create my franken-minions. I earned those already and it pisses me off that I can never really "earn" them.
I did up my achievement count recently when they added the pet stats ones, which was nice. But I'm baffled as to why I seem to care about achievements. The only place they show is on the forums, and I'm seldom there.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
This confuses me too. I just went out of my way to go for the 10m Shop Till Saver achievement. Why? I don't care. It means nothing. I don't collect plushies or beanbags or stickers. Why achievements, which are even more irritating? I spend so little time on the fora my post count is the one thing preventing me from getting into the Blue Building. There is nothing in it for me.AngharadTy wrote:I'm baffled as to why I seem to care about achievements.
There's a 50m Shop Till Saver achievement. Of course. I did not know this, but as I closed in on 10m I began to suspect. Screw a big pile of that. I emptied my till and bought myself the Misery Bound Cape I've had my eye on.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
There are achievements for collecting beanbags and plushies and stickers. Don't you want in on that?! I have more beanbags than my trophy shows, heh--I like the charlie trophy. Don't want to accidentally collect my rewards and bump up my trophy. I did it solely for the achievement. Siiiiigh.
That shop till achievement has another tier past 50m; it goes to 100m. I only have it because of a helpful friend. I'd never seen so much sP in my life. ;)

Re: New Feature: Achievements
I'm glad that more of the achievements have been retro'd. Like Krypts Explorer and Potion Lottery Winner. I was despairing of ever being able to "achieve" those two things again. :S
I also only have the Shop Till Savers because a friend and I pooled our sP and then bought junk items from each other's shops. There's no way I could "save" my shop till without collecting it. xD

Re: New Feature: Achievements
Yeah, the recent achievements have been beyond frustrating. Especially when Keith himself doesn't want anyone to have over 1mill. He never should have made that comment, it's come back to bite him in the ass numerous times.Ierosbats wrote:Yeahhh... anyone else enjoying how the Achievement system has apparently become one big joke between Keith and the richest players on the site? Considering there is something like 2 or 3 of each of those god weapons on the site, I don't know how in the hell Keith justifies putting them there. On the forums he mentioned he is thinking of having them equipped to a pet for something like 45 days to prevent people from just borrowing them from rich friends. Of course you can only have one god weapon equipped to a pet at a time so not sure how that would work out.
Wish they'd concentrate more on ones that are actually achievable via skill and such, like spindles or tiles, instead of who has the most money.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
I've actually been pulling most of the recent slew of achievements from this thread. So if you can think of any cool/fun/hard/interesting achievements (especially if they can be tiered !) feel free to post them, I've been making a list of ones that I'd like to put in.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
Submitted a bunch!
However, I had already submitted the idea of having achievements for how long you've been on Subeta - 1 month, 6 months, a year, etc. - with suggested prizes and so on - at least five months ago to the Suggestions Center. Further proof that Staff utterly ignores that place.
Personally, I'd love all the little annoying glitches - seeds that can't be planted, the trade glitches, the shop search glitches, the multiple glitches with Item Scramble (myself, JaguarGal, BoaConstrictor, QtipDad, and Dilapidated still cannot even access the game after over a year), Subeta.org instead of Subeta.net on the layouts - be fixed first, but hey, that's just me.

My computer is connected to the internet and the internet contains everything in the whole wide world ever. I don't know about you but I sometimes find everything in the whole wide world ever a bit distracting.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
How long has the achievement page had a total count? It's needed one since it was created, certainly. However--
...why not? They're included in the forum achievement count, and in the scant few times that count shows up for me in mouseovers. Unless that got fixed within the past couple of days, too.Total Achievements
230
This does not include legacy achievements.

Yes, really. -sigh- It's such a excellent idea, and it could be so well put to use... but I can't quite bring myself to submit my ideas for improving the Suggestions Center.Sunwolf wrote:—at least five months ago to the Suggestions Center. Further proof that Staff utterly ignores that place.

Re: New Feature: Achievements
I'm so glad you did! I was so totally thrilled to see that we finally had pianos. I was really wanting them for my Scythe's treasure chest. So thank you so much for them! XDRah wrote:I don't utterly ignore the suggestions center :/ I just recently pulled the instruments idea from there!
I usually ignore achievements unless I do them without knowing. There are a few that I find myself trying to achieve. Like I worked and doing the shop till awhile ago. I never tried to get the 50 mill step, I just couldn't hold my money in there for that long. I also tend to work towards the holiday ones, mostly when I see you can earn a prize from them. I'm still mad at the increase of the token shop one. I was quiet close to getting that one and they went and increased. XP
It's also cool to see how many I've done though. I've done more then I thought I have. I'm confused on the Legacy ones. I know I achieved a good chunk of them but they are all greyed out on me. Ah well.

I'm glad too! I can put the upright piano into the Tower gallery and finally replace the creepy Klaver.
