So my sister, who hasn't played Subeta in ages, decided to check in and see what was going on there, and typed in Subeta.org out of habit. Lo and behold, she was redirected to Neopets.com.
Anybody know anything about this? Between this and the "new pet" Kacheek thing, I'm wondering what's going on.
Sorry if this is old news or inappropriate for a topic, but I was just curious whether anyone knows anything.

Re: Subeta.org redirect
I noticed a while ago the subeta.org domain had been bought by viacom. They had a holding page for a while.
I suppose they decided to profit from Keith losing the domain.

Re: Subeta.org redirect
The Forums are a mess over this. It seems every five minutes someone is making a topic: "OMG NEOPETS OWNS SUBETA. Nooo000oooo. THEY SUKS!".
Be careful what you do on that site, as it is (obviously) not Neopets. The urls for the pages are all subetax.org/whatever. There may be cookie grabbers or some such on there.
Edit:
Ohh, Covet, Viacom doesn't actually own Subeta either. It's just a false site much like the Neo thing is right now. Keith said some technical stuff in the forums that I forgot by now, but in short, Viacom has nothing to do with .org.

Re: Subeta.org redirect
Subeta.org is still owned by Shikoneko and Ender, the people that were fired whenever the subeta.ws/net stuff started. They were mirroring subeta.org to viacom.com for a while, I guess (I never saw it in this stage) and now to neopets.com for shits and giggles.
It's not really a true redirect, I think - It's a mirror. If it were redirecting to neopets.com, the URL in the address bar would change away from subeta.org to neopets.com, like it does if you mistype Neopets or put in one of the other URLs Neopets has bought. Either way, it's basically just the two of them continuing to be jackasses many months later.

Re: Subeta.org redirect
Guys, like Seerow said, do not touch the red button.
I mean, go on subeta dot org. *ahem*
As staff do not have control over it, we can't tell what EnderNeko will do with it. It might not point to Neopets forever, and next thing might be less...cool. (Read - porno sites, viruses, keyloggers, cookie grabbers - name it)
So, be extra careful, okay.

Re: Subeta.org redirect
It would make sense to report falsification of Neopets to TNT. Whether or not it has to do with people being vindictive towards Subeta, it's a copyright violation for Neo, and I can honestly see this issue being obliterated within a week. Rather than just ignoring it, I'm going to file this with TNT. (don't think it'll get mentioned in the editorial, but this is nonsense.)
Edit: Your request has been successfully submitted!
I don't have premium anymore, so non-paying customers get a slower response time with no official word as to what transpired after the fact. I encourage people to report it to TNT instead if they have an account there. The spam/abuse may be tenatively related to Neo, but while it currently is, tell them. I definitely think Neo cares about misuse of their site coding/layout.
