Omen Island Celebration!

Yay for new holidays :D No wonder a bunch of staff members have been dressing in tribal gear for the past few days on the forums.

Subeta has slowed pretty much to a crawl right now and I haven't gotten to do much, but it seems like there's several things you can do. You can purchase water balloons or Swampie squirt guns at one of the new shops and, thankfully, we don't have to fight for them since the are always in stock!
You can also get your face painted at the same place with some pretty neat tribal designs.

You can find trinkets, I'm assuming around the site, and exchange them for items. It seems to be like in the Fireside celebration where you get a random item instead of being a prize shop of sorts.

Soaking people takes place on the forums, but here is the direct link if you want to soak people who don't use the forums often. Just enter the user number in place of the Xs. It gives you a water-splashy background in your posts, much like the Halloween event did.

The new NPCs are rather neat as well, though I'm kind of sad there isn't mention of Merana yet seeing as the whole event takes place on her island and all. Maybe she'll make an appearance later?

Some achievements were released also. There are ones for soaking people, being soaked, turning in a trinket, and getting your face painted. They don't see to be working properly right now though.

It all seems pretty cool, but the site has been crawling for me for days now, before the event even started, and now it's even worse.

I've also spent about 80k on face painting so far, trying to find one I like, and also with it not working sometimes, so I would recommend waiting on that one. (Since my HA is a zombie and the preview doesn't show with your zombie skin, it's hard to tell what it will look like on the final version.)

Edit: Here's my info:

So... I can't actually get to the island if I don't have the full map? The last three pieces I need are gonna shoot up in price like hell :/ Bummer.

Sounds fun though, good for the summer holiday lull. I was more excited about it before I found out I couldn't go to the island though.

Shall we make a NC list again? My link is http://www.subeta.net/soak.php?user=157826

I guess you have to buy a water balloon or pistol every time? At first, I assumed that you were able to use the pistol more than one time (which would make sense), but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The lag on the site is so terrible right now, I can't do much.

I turned in a gold leaf trinket and got this in return:

The gold leaf trinket itself is rather pretty.

On top of the site lag, the achievements definitely aren't working. I got the "Soak 10 users" achievement notification, but when I checked my achievements list, it said I only had 5/10. So I bought five more balloons and got it again. I've been soaked by two users so far, but it says 0/5 in my achievements. And I just completed a training session that should have pushed my pet's strength stat to 200, but it's still at 199.

Interesting event. I think I'll have to wait until the site calms down a little before I try to do too much with it. The lag is driving me crazy.

Sounds cool. :D Why is it that events tend to start when I have the most schoolwork to do? :( As such, I probably won't be able to start messing around until tomorrow. But here's my link: http://www.subeta.net/soak.php?user=99635

I woke up and checked Subeta first and was stunned at the lag. I couldn't even get to the explore page. But this explains everything! Hooray! ...Here's hoping the trinket event will go on plenty long enough to make up for the inability to do anything right now.

By the way, if someone wants to make a thread they'll update often to add all the NCers, just for soaking, go ahead. This thread is for discussion of the entire event, that thread would be for a list.

Oooo this looks cool! I was hoping for a summer holiday! I knew I should of bought the few map pieces I needed earlier. I was trying to find all the pieces via random even, I almost got there too. Just needed 4 more. Ah well! It just cost me a little over 2 mill to get the last four I needed. I got lucky with needing some of the less expensive ones. So now i just need to piece it together and I can get to the gold exchange thingie...once I find some gold pieces...damn lag. Ah well, I hope the servers get use to the people clicking around soon so I can do the same. I'm not going to try and do my quests with all this lag. Anywho this looks like a fun holiday! The NPCs look so cool and I can't wait to start playing with the tribal paint. I'm going to have fun soaking people to, muha!
I'll put up my quick link as soon as Subeta is back up again. **pokes subeta with a stick**

Has anyone besides bonecrivain found any golden items to trade at the island yet? I've been on and off the site for two hours now and I haven't run across any. :/

If it's alright, I can just tack on all the soaking links to the first page of this one? I did that with the other events and I think it worked out okay.
If not, I don't mind starting a new thread and keeping it up to date. Whichever :P

And I've found one trinket, a pretty golden leaf thingy. Got a wooden bead necklace as the prize.

I've only found one, a golden flower. After being on and off for about 5 hours. I got a Green Giant Bead Bracelet from it.
