Dinosaur Chat!!!

Post by Fivefingers »

It seems this has been turned into a Dinosaur chat, so...

Come one, come all! Tell us about your favorite dinosaurs, or maybe guess as what they might have looked like or how they might have behaved.

Just have some fun and chat about these ancient creatures with others that enjoy them, same as you!

Hello!

Are you able to copy and paste the exact error message you get when you try to sign up? I used to get error messages all over the site years ago when I used a certain Firewall - disabling the Firewall granted me access to every page on the site and I never saw the message again.

If you haven't already, try clearing your cookies/cache and see if you come across the same problem.

If you're still having issues after doing what Fury said, i've found that some sites (even certain pages on Neo) don't respond as well on various browsers, so if it still keeps happening, maybe try it in a different browser.

Best of luck! And welcome to our forum!

Oops! Please check.
An error occured, please try again.
That's all it tells me.

I tried signing up on a different browser and it looks promising. I switched from IE to Crome. I'm at the beginning of the process now and not jumping right to the email section. Unfortunately, 'my' username is unavailable, so that means I have to figure out who I want to be. (Someone stole Fivefingers!)
This might take awhile... Hehehe.
Anyways, I'll let you guys know how it goes once I've decided on a name I like.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, and the welcome. Neocolours looks to be a promising asset and a great place to chat with like-minded fans of neopia. I'm excited to begin my journey once more.

Hahaha! I get it. Veeery funny....
Actually, that is rather clever, but I decided to go with 'coelophysis_bauri'. It's the scientific name of my favorite type of dinosaur. You're never too old for dinos!

On that note, I'm happy to report that I'm all signed up and things are going great. I wouldn't have thought to try a different browser, so thank you so, SO much to Fury and Fjorab.

For anyone that may be interested, feel free to send me a friend request over at neopets. I'd love to get to know the community.

Oh my goodness I also love dinosaurs!! I AM ABOUT TO GEEK OUT HERE!

I own the account theropod - check it out! A spinosaur, microceratops, sauropod and ankylosaur!

My favourite dinosaur is still Plateosaurus - I just love prosauropods for some reason.

Coelophysis is a pretty good one though. Cannibals! Discovered by Cope (the most adorable, curmudgeonly screwup ever)! Possibly the first dinosaur! (Suck it, eoraptor).

Dinosaur-themed pets! That's a great idea. Very clever. ^^

Plateosaurus is a great dinosaur. They're sturdy yet elegant. Very appealing.

Hahaha, yeah. Coelophysis was my favorite ever since 'Walking With Dinosaurs'. Have you seen it? It's a (I believe) 6-part documentary on various dinos throughout history and how they might have lived back then. I really enjoyed the series and would recommend it highly.

Don't make the mods lock this! Make the mods move this to chit-chat and make the title "LET'S ALL TALK ABOUT DINOSAURS"

Walking With Dinosaurs is a great one - there's been a more recent series that is made by the same people and uses newer science. It's called "Planet Dinosaur" and was pretty great.

What freaks me out is that they know what colour some dinosaurs were because feathers! Do you know Microraptor was the colour of a raven?

(On that note, did you know microraptor has four wings!?)

Alrighty. I fixed the first post so no one gets confused. XD

I don't think I've seen 'Planet Dinosaur' yet, but I'll definitely look it up.
Last year I actually did a little extra credit presentation for school about that new method they're using to tell what color fossil feathers were. It's so cool!
However, I had not heard about that four wings thing. How's that supposed to work? Microraptor couldn't have six limbs, could it? That doesn't make any sense...

I had to pick my favorite dinosaur recently for... reasons. I picked Archaeopteryx because I love the Solnhofen specimen so much and I was told that was cheating. Fuck it, that's my favorite! But it was very hard to choose.

I played Dinosaur Safari soooo much growing up. So much. Tanystropheus made the most adorable sound. And that damn Plesiosaur....

ohmigod I love Tanystropheus too! I forgot about him. Such a weird dinosaur! Nothing seems to be quite like it?

I just love any dinosaurs with long necks. They're so graceful!

I totally want a diplodocus tattoo. I'd just need a place to put it and a design that was especially classy.

Oh, duh. I should have guessed that. Feathers on the legs, of course.

I haven't thought of Tanystropheus in a long time. I actually had no idea what it was called until I looked it up just now, but it's such an unforgettable dinosaur. I wonder if they might have made good pets...

If I were going to get a diplodocus tattoo, I'd probably have the neck and tail wrap around something. (Arm, leg, I dunno...) Or a top veiw might be nice, maybe along my spine, but that's just me.
