This is going to sound really bad, but, what the hey, may as well..

Due to my Asbergers condition, I am hypersensitive to touch. Waxing is, literelly, agony, no matter how many times I have it done.

Due to that my mom refuses to let me shave -- as they leave little stubbles and quick to grow -- I only wax my legs for the summer, and if I have to wear short pants or a skirt for some occasion.

So, yeah.. Though, I havn't had to wax my face for years; hair just.. Hasn't grown. XD I dunno why. Only my eyebrows need some tweazing every so often.

But my legs.. Yeah. Right now, they're kind of a mess. But a COMFORTABLE mess, so.. Woohoo! *confetti*

If there were no suffering whatsoever involved I might consider it. But there's the being poked with little tiny pokey things to be reckoned with. That might not be an issue with people with fine or thin pubic hair, but it definitely is for me.

[TMI]I use the Keeper/Diva Cup unless I'm having major cramps, so period blood isn't really a major issue.[/TMI]

My god, this topic has me chuckling. XDD.

I'm an advocate for bikini waxes and tweezing and shaving all unneccessary body hair- due to some hormonal issues I get those GROSS little toe hairs, so those are waxed as soon as they're long enough. Other than that, I've got the type of body you'd expect to see with a bikini wax, laying out on a beach and tanning. Damned stereotypes... Anyways, I'll epliate my legs when I'm running out of time (it's a little more sting than a wax, because it plucks out individual hairs), tweeze my eyebrows (because I know what I"m doing), and 'trim' 'down there' to keep it all organised because DAMN, they get annoying! And the fact that I'm a single virgin leaves me no incentive to actually preen something that's not going to be used anytime soon. XD.

I'm with Usul_Princess on this one... I'm in the middle of Michigan, in Harrison (where?), which is right above the snowbelt. After October, all that 'unneccessary' hair becomes neccessary to keep my scrawny white ass warm.

Guys? I like them with little to no hair. Same goes for girls. Don't need someone who's got more hair than needed. And you get those classical lumber-jack dudes around here that just send a shiver down your spine- like a recess in evolution, right there- it's just wrong and you don't need to look like something off of those Geico commercials. *shudders*

I type too much. xD
i suck a lot okay

Y'know what? I shave my legs ONLY if Im wearing a skirt, or Im going to get laid.

Otherwise, I let them grow. I can't be fucked to do it when no one but me will see it. Waste of time. Underarms I do pretty much daily just for hygene reasons.
Everywhere else I keep....'neat' but don't shave completely. I think thats a little......odd. A woman should have pubic hair, dammit. We're not little girls.

Men, I used to like my men completely hairless when I was younger. No chest hair, yuk.
But now, I like a little hair on a guy's chest. Not a thatch, not a fucking bear-like carpet, and if its on their back too thats just....ick. But a little chest hair is sexy. Everywhere else, I don't really care what they do. Theres something a little too feminine about a man shaving his underarms or legs or trimming his pubic hair.....

I don't like flossing my teeth while....I"m sure you can guess the end of that. The guy doesn't have to shave himself entirely, but take a pair of scissors to that rat's nest for cryin' out loud.

Jessibean, my reccomendation for shaving down there is to do it in the shower or tub, with shaving cream and a new blade on your razor. Afterwards, make sure you're dry and I personally go commando for a couple of days afterwards, to keep from getting horrible razorburn.

Going commando definitely helps. And don't wear jeans for a few days after your first time shaving, because ohgod is the itching horrible. It definitely does get better, though. Just...try to shave your first time on a weekend or something, because I went to work the next day and was in agony.

I'm curious how you can trim without shaving...do you seriously just take scissors and clip away? It seems like it'd be a bit haphazard and uneven.

Thanks to conversations with Enri and Ty (which is how all of this started), I've started experimenting with shaving...it was incredibly odd the first time I did it, but now it looks so weird to me when it starts growing back. I'm not really sure what I prefer...I figure when a guy comes into the picture, his preferences will come into play, because I really don't mind either way. I still haven't shaved everything: the rest kind of scares me, and I'm not sure I'm flexible enough. Perhaps I'll work up to that.

And of course I shave underarms and legs, although I really only do the latter when I'm going to be wearing a skirt or shorts or something that will show my legs. Sometimes I'll do it just for fun, because it does feel nice to have smooth legs. And I pluck between my eyebrows, but I don't really know how to shape them, so I try with that sometimes but not always that seriously. I suppose it's a bit weird, but I like the feeling of eyebrow plucking.

I know some people who shave their arms, but I think that's just odd. Especially since one of them is a guy. I'm kind of weirded out by hairless arms for some reason.

And as for guys...I have no idea what my hairiness preference is in certain areas, because I have no experience there...but hair is fine everywhere but on the back, I'd say. A little chest hair is fine, but anything that makes a man start looking like a gorilla is nasty. We did evolve, you know. Don't lag behind.

I like to think of it as artistic.

More seriously, I own a pair of clippers with a half-inch attachment. Yes, I essentially Flowbee my bits periodically. All class.

Well its sort of an...overly valuable area to just go in "haphazardly", you'd just try and get it all looking about the same length and hope nobody pays too much attention.

Hell we're not talking about a set or a short back and sides here, its not an area commonly exposed in public that will take much scrutiny.

Also I'm not smirking slightly because of words that rhyme with public and scrutiny...

Thanks for the advice xD I decided to wait until TODAY to do it, since I have at least tomorrow off work and no one here cares if I scratch myself all day ;_; I have a new razor, I have shaving cream, we'll see how it goes :P

Heh, yeah the first time is kinda awkward. But you get used to it the more you do it. I remember once I was in a rush and pressed a bit too hard with the razor. Got a nasty gouge down there, it wasn't fun. I sort of avoided shaving for a while after that, but then I got over it. xD Just go slowly.

And yeah, the first time itches, but it does less and less each time. And it's easier if you trim everything first, since shorter hairs are easier to deal with. And definitely use a new blade on your razor.

Ahh, okay everyone, here I am back from the Great Shaving Expedition, ready to givemy report. You lucky people, you.

First thought - jesus christ, I had no idea I was that hairy, and now I'm embarrased O_o

It really wasn't that bad XD The awkward positions wasn't too difficult to me, since I lived in dorm rooms for two years, and even shaving your LEGS in a dorm room shower is a god damn amazing thing to do :P One of the longest showers I've ever take though (like 45-50 minutes xD), and i'm disapointed because I missed a few spots (or rather, didn't get some spots as well >_>)

Either way, to everyone afraid to try it, it's not that bad XD I'm sure I'll be eating my words tomorrow when the itch kicks in, but oh well. There you have it. I feel special now.

I shave armpits and legs every few days no matter the season. Stomache if nessessary. Eyebrows are plucked every second day, and upperlip maybe every 3 or 4 days, because I can't stand female moustaches in ANY form. "Down below" was shaved once and probably NEVER AGAIN. Possibly to start Brazilians soon, but at the moment, I'll stick to trimming. I recently went on a 10 day sailing trip with 40 strangers - 20 guys and 20 girls, aged 15-19, with only 6:30am swims in the morning, and a shower on the second to last day. It seemed hair became everyone's main conversation topic, and while most went commando, I couldn't stand
not shaving my underarms, but somehow I left my legs for TEN WHOLE DAYS!
As for guys, I could never date a keen cyclist or swimmer. Like Ziggy said, no armpit or leg hair is pretty feminine. I don't mind stubble on a guys face, but no giant beards, and I think back hair or wayyyy too much chest hair should be a illegal.

o.o this topic is -

Anyway. I shave my pits EVERY day, and my legs (in summer, every three days and any other art of the year when i feel like it). I only do my lower legs, as I'm fair haired naturally and its hard to tell i have hair anyway. I get my brows and upper lip waxed occasionally. I got a brazillian wax ONCE, I couldnt stand the pain, im too sensitive - so now i just trim back till its sparce looking down there.

I shave my bikini line only if im going swimming - which isnt very often even in an Australian summer.

On guys i like facial hair - my boyfriend has a goatie and pony tail so yeah. I don't mind some chest hair. I can't stand back hair, and guys don't need to be shaven downstairs, just trim the hedges a bit otherwise things start to get /impractical/.
