Official comic books! The official, produced by Joss Whedon continuing story of the Scoobies. He actually penned the first four issue arc himself, and I'm loving it. Then he did a quick standalone, which was excellent also, and we're about to launch into the Faith arc written by Brian K. Vaughan in the beginning of September. How awesome is that cover? The first five issues are going to be compiled together and released in November thusly. How awesome is THAT cover? The cover art has been killing me with it's gorgeousness. So far my favorite vamps have been (mostly) missing in action, but Oz has been promised to make an appearance. Also it's been going so well that Angel: Season 6 is coming soon too, although Joss is more hands off on that, so maybe the vamps will turn up there.

I'm a huge fangirl. It's just a fact.

EDIT: YES, Jo Chen did that cover and so far the regular cover for every issue, and each one is more gorgeous than the last. They all have to be seen but the Willow cover for issue #3 was phenomenal.

According to the date stamp on the file, I have had this desktop since late January, 2006. This is normal for me: I don't change my desktop often.

I like big areas of dark blank space on my wallpaper so I have places to put my icons. Normal people clearly don't mind, but having icons over a busy background (like, say, an image) drives me nuts.

Way off topic now, but I have got to get me some of that. Brian K. Vaughan rules about 70% of the time (his Ultimate X-Men arc sucks, but Y: the Last Man was an immediate favorite and Runaways is maybe the best thing I've ever seen done with the genre) and Whedon's comic book writing these days is genius (Astonishing X-Men for the win, Whedon/Cassaday OTP). Plus I love me some Jo Chen. Delicious delicious Jo Chen.

Oh lucky! I would love to be felt up by James Marsters or be the one feeling him up! I got his newsletter the other day saying he was going to be at Dragoncon but it's to far away from me and I'm working on moving, bum!
The Buffy comic looks like it would be real good. I need to see if I can get myself a copy of the first issue to give it a look see. I must say (even with what could of possible happened at the end of the 5th season of Angel) I'm hoping Spike would come into the comic. Spike was what got me watching Buffy! I started to watch an episode cause Spike caught my eye while flipping through channels and I became hooked to the show. I fell for other characters but Spike has always been my number 1. Heck he's the reason I watched the 5th season of Angel, even though I couldn't stand Angel. I'm such a hopeless Spike/James fan girl. Oh and I find the cover art of the comics very yummy. I can't get enough of staring at them. My favorite is the Willow cover, yum yum! [/off topic rambling]

Mention of Oz is enough to get me interested in the comics. I love me some Oz. I'm waiting for more Firefly comics.

This is the picture I'm using right now:

I have more that I got from adultswim's site (Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Brak Show...)
I also use pictures from http://icanhascheezburger.com/, a few from Neopets, Reno 911 and (one of my favorites) The Colbert Report.

Well, it is different from the last thread, but not very different...

I'm only a little obsessed with Gwen Stefani...

Ooh, Flight of the Conchords, Ailiel! I love them, and hardly anyone's ever heard of them :) Which songs are they?

I am so so glad that I am spreading the good word of the Buffy comics. They really are great. Now as for me, I am a Buffy girl first and foremost-- she's my favorite character. But I love everybody, Spike certainly notwithstanding, and James Marsters is a total hottie. I was 12 when I started watching Buffy during it's second season, so I love Spike, Drusilla (Juliet Landau is going to be at Dragoncon as well), and the scooby gang of Oz, Cordy, Buffy, Xander, and Willow, Giles, and of course Angel (mmm... Angel). The comics have definitely had a real "return to the beginning", season 2 feel with the characters, even though everything is more epic and crazy with the supernatural baddies. I believe Spike has been promised to make an appearance, like Oz, but only in a guest star capacity. I will issue one little spoiler, Buffy is single, and the events of Season 5 Angel might not have been the way Spike and Angel perceived them to be (or the way Andrew led them to believe).

The comics actually make me laugh out loud, like the show did, and still feel for the characters. I could nitpick them like any fan, but in the end it's Joss, and it's Buffy, and giving us the stories in comic form is not the show, but it's 10 million times better than not telling us at all, or giving it in bits and pieces in interviews

Flight of the Conchords have an HBO show now, so they are definitely getting more popular. In fact it's cleared for a second season. I have "A Kiss is not a contract," "Foux Du Fa Fa," "Bowie in Space," and "She's So Hot (Boom)" on my desktop. I have a few more of their songs, but not my favorite, "Bret You've Got It Going On." I watch that one on Youtube. My friends and I are always saying "Yis" now. :D And instead of hello, lately we have been saying "The humans are dead" "Yis, I poked one it was dead."

Right now, my desktop is something I'm working on, I update it daily though with the changes I make, I have about 7 Icons on it, and 6 of them are on an MS Paint drawn Shelf, and the 7th one is in an MS Paint drawn bin (Recycle Bin), so I'm gradually working on making a drawing, that my Icons are sitting on a shelf, and my Bin Icon is in a bin, the other images as of now are a Grey Ixi and Safir, I'm drawing a Desk with a PC on it right now. I'll post the screen shot when I'm done drawing it. :/

Wingsrising I like your Desktop :3 I don't like Icons covering People/Patterns up, thats why I'm making them on a Shelf. :p It looks good right now I might screenshot it unfinished.

Just for grins and giggles, my work desktop. The image is from a watercolor by Jennifer Miller (Nambroth) that I was outbid on at Anthrocon one year. Oh, well.

You can see the desktop at work is much more cluttered than the one at home. Most of those icons are useless and I really need to clean.

I've used this desktop since I started work here, almost 2 years now. I really don't change my desktops often. :-)

A kid kept bugging me, so here's mine. It's not terribly exciting at the moment.

You get a general idea of what I'm typically doing on my computer, although you can't see the 80 billion tabs open in firefox. I don't know what I did before browser tabs.

Sometimes when I'm in the middle of writing things, I keep them on my desktop so they're more visible. I think it's supposed to encourage me to actually finish writing them, but...one of the Word documents in that screenshot was a lj entry I wrote in May (and never posted). It is finished, though.

I'll probably change my background now, just because I looked at it for too long while resizing this image. Ha.
