Giant Rats and Tiny Opossums, oh my!

Apparently they discovered a new and huge rat in New Guinea. :o As well as what appears to be a mouse-sized opossum. That article has pictures, of course. :D I'm not a rat fan but I actually find it kinda cute.

Holy cute! I totally want a mouse-sized opossum now. Also, I have a wicked desire to tell everyone I know that is sketchy about rats that there exists one five times the size they're used to. ;P

I almost posted this yesterday, because there are so many rat lovers here. He looks so squishy and the opossum is so adorable.

I guess news of these new species is traveling around. I watched the 60 Minutes clips of this expedition the other day - if you thought the little opossum was cute, wait till you see it jumping around on the camera men.
