This is true, but so is what Wingsrising said (addendum: hospitals have a lot of food, some of them to the point of containing multiple takeaway places, and if zombification is curable, well, there are drugs there). This makes hospitals the glass ninja of zombie apocalypse fortification-and-defense sites: if no zombies can get in, you're about as safe as you can possibly be, but if a single zombie gets in you're absolutely fucked.

I agree with the doctors, but er, guns? Where? I'm honestly curious; I can't think of a single place at Southend Hospital I'd find - or want - a person with a gun.

I've always said that in case of zombie attack I'll go and hide in 1 East level 3, because no zombie would ever find it, even given a map. (It's not accessible via the 1 East entrance - that'll fox them for a while. 1 East has no stairs or escalator; it's just a single room on the ground floor.) For some reason, that's never an option on these kinds of polls, but that's only because the writers haven't spent long enough in Bath. It's foolproof.

I must say it also depends on who is writing your Zombie invasion. Romero's Zombies tend to be anybody who dies without brain tramua once the "mysterious zombie generating event" happens, meaning even someone dropping dead of Lupus (even though it is never lupus) would get up about five seconds after they die, while some other zombie lore says it has to be a bite, or a scratch, and some go as far as any physical contact with a zombie, or anyone who has touched a zombie, or someone who has touched someone who has touched a zombie will regenerate as soon as they die. If you subscribe to the bite infection only philosophy then a hospital is much safer than if any recently deceased corpse gets up.
