... this is my one thousandth post. This is significant not just because it's an exciting round number (though it is), but because it's far and away the most posts I've made to any one forum, newsgroup or mailing list. It may be more posts than I've made to all the other forums, newsgroups and mailing lists I've frequented, combined. I drift away for a few weeks or months here and there, but I keep coming back, because I'm more comfortable and have had more fun here than any other non-realtime place on the net.

So this is not about how many posts I've made, really; it's my thank-you note to all of you, for making me welcome. Thanks for being awesome, Neocolours.

Congratulations and concurrence from me. Neocolours feels like the backyard of a grandparent's house to me. I really grew up here. How old was I when I first started on the NC, ten or eleven? Now I'm sixteen, and I can say I was raised correctly. Many people I know who are kind, respectable people in real life become chatspeaking, trolling boors when presented a keyboard and mouse. Not me. They came to find that they got attention from making a post with a flashing font and a barely-legible story to gossip about. I learned that expressing a clear opinion in a well-thought-out manner is much more respectable than "lol ur ugly and gay roflmao".

For teaching me that we can all interact, young to old, across the world, without fighting and rumour-spreading... thank you. Thank you all. My God, I'm shedding tears over an Internet forum. I am a dork.

Congrats, TFB :D I get all sappy over NC too - actually, May will be my 2nd year anniversary on Neocolours (yep... only second XD) and I can't believe how many awesome people I've met here in that time - including your lovely self, of course.

Neocolours truly is an amazing little corner of the web.
