Here, randomly have this trip-hop mix I made

Post by Twofold Black »

There's a lengthy explanation for this, which you can find here if you are really, intensely curious. It involves Supernatural (the TV show, notable for its eye candy and its quite possibly total failure to pass the Bechdel Test at any point during its run) and ... peripherally, gay pornography. That's not the operative thing here. The operative thing is that I'm quite pleased with this mix, entirely in its own right, and when I do something awesome I have to make sure as many people as possible know about it. Therefore:

Beat Your Wings and Disappear: .rar; .zip; alternate .rar. 1 hour 4 minutes, ~100mb. Some violent and religious themes, small quantities of profanity, one incredibly sappy lovesong.

This is not a bad primer of trip-hop and trip-hop-adjacent music, for those of you who have seen any film made in the last fifteen years and have therefore heard Excess or Roads (or Massive Attack's Angel, which is not on this mix) but are not familiar with the genre as such, though that wasn't my goal when I was making it; for those of you who do know the genre, I'll bet you a dollar there's at least one great song here you haven't heard. And ... I can probably guess which one. It also just hangs together very well, as a mix.

Tracklist:

Garmarna - O Vis Aeternitatis
All India Radio - Four Three
Thievery Corporation (featuring Emilíana Torrini) - Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes
Portishead - Roads
Massive Attack - False Flags
Nitin Sawhney - Falling Angels
Lamb - Gorecki
Thievery Corporation (featuring Natch) - The Richest Man in Babylon
Emilíana Torrini - Wednesday's Child
Morcheeba - Wonders Never Cease
Bitter:Sweet - Bittersweet Faith
Massive Attack - Antistar
Télépopmusik - Another Day

The songs sort correclty in iTunes if sorted by album, but not if sorted by album artist. I don't know, dudes. There is also a .m3u in the archive.
