Hmm..I like this version of the revamp a little better, but it is still less playful overall to me, I suppose it doesn't matter too much as I have a Galactic one, which was only temporary anyway. I like the Nuclear one apart from the eyes, which is a problem of the colour. It's a shame, I really like that neon green and black together, but the turquoise eyes ruin it for me. ;-;
I can't think of a nice, constructive thing to say about the Archan, all I can say to describe it is "crap" and I can't pin-point what's wrong with it because the whole thing is bad, well apart from the wing on the tail, I like that. It looks like someone punched it in the face and it got mangled. The mane looks utterly flat and dark, I didn't know where it tailed off for a second. I had to stop and think to myself "what is going on with this pet", on first impressions I though the blood on the mane was the chest and it was a wound. It is also sitting quite weirdly, it doesn't look like something that should be seated.
I'm not saying this to be mean, more out of disappointment. When I saw a Lion type species I had such hope for it, the basic colours weren't received all to well as the anatomy was off, but I got over it and now have an Arid Archan.
So I was looking forward for the redraws to hopefully make this a better species. Firstly we had Angelic which got a resounding "meh" from me. Then Galactic was just as bad and I remember covet, I think, describing it quite a disturbing manner and that image stuck.
But yeah, it's a guardian sort pet, I thought that the Galactic Archan could have looked really mystical and proud, but no. Then this, it could have been snarling and standing at least. Perhaps roaring in accomplishment after attacking it's prey?
Sorry for this whole rant, but poor Archan, maybe Reborn will be better.
I'll be keeping the pose though. I like that pose. Probably just a case of tracing over most of it, and then altering the lineart to match the revamp. Sorry, but it has to be done eventually!
