Ghostly Possible Revamp

Ooh, much better definitely. The old one was quite ugly, so it isn't hard to improve on. At least some of the new colours wont look as "grubby" like some of the current ones.

I can't find any faults with it, it took a while for me to grasp that the thing on it's head was a skull. But the rest is alright, I like the cape now. It kind of looks like a more posh Ghost now because of the ruffles and the...cravat?

Hmm... the art's not bad, but I'm not sure. I've always liked Ghostlies, despite their plainness, but after voting on all of their colours, I see they need a revamp.

However, I think its hands look somewhat awkward, it looks slightly... fat and... well, what's up with that jabot?

I'll be voting yes, but I do hope it will be polled again.

I voted for the new one. At least you can tell what's on its head.

I wish "neither" was an option, though. =/

Very nice, for the most part. I don't like the symbol on the head being so large and easy to 'read', and both hands seem a bit funny to me in different ways -- the right (viewer's left) is too bulgy at the heel, and the fingers of the left are too far apart. Still, an improvement that retains the Ghostly's personality. I've always wanted to like this species.

Edit: Well, the current Ghostly has a jabot. It's just a lot less ... jabot-like; it looks kind of like a tuft of fur or a beard.

I dunno, the "jabot" always looked like a hole in the... cloth-thing. That line always looked like a neck to me.

The hand on its right/our left is, as Mr. Black says, very off. That bulge should not be there. It looks very unattractive. It's also very odd to me that the hands are as heavily shaded as the body. Bleh.

I also really don't like that they changed the symbol on its head.

I also wish neither were an option. I happen to like ghostly, a lot. The concept is just too cool for me not to have one; and while the art was simple, it wasn't awful because it's a simple creature.

I think the hands are weird. The claws, especially on its left hand, look too small for the space between each one. It's also lost it's neck now, or at least the semblence of it's head being carelessly tied on. I suppose the effect is more apparent in its chibi and graveyard forms. Rather than a jabot like galactic, they've always appeared to be like a piece of cloth wrapped around a lollypop with the ends flaring out. I also really would rather see at least part of the eyes on the skull, and if they're going for crossbones instead of X's, they need to be fleshed out more and look like proper bones. The tongue is also quite off. It's as if it takes up the whole mouth instead of being normal like spectrum or hydrus. Oh, and the pose isn't as fluid and floaty now.

All in all, I'm not upset, but it could definitely be much better.

I saw it the same way as FourEyes. XD Apparently everyone sees it as something else though, hence making it something obvious..

That's a very good point. This is overcomplicated. All those folds (both on the ghostly's body and on the jabot) don't make it look better, they just make it too detailed.

Also, on a personal note, I don't want them to turn its symbol into a more obvious skull-and-crossbones because then I'll have to put ghostly stuff into my Ossuary. It's bad enough with waradors. I don't want to have a ghostly gallery. I want a bone gallery. ;P

(edit to change instance of "ghastly" to "ghostly." I plead "too much pokemon.")

I don't know... I love Ghostlies, and I like this, but...
1. Too much shading along the arms/hands. Makes them look much busier than the rest of the pet.
2. The skull being so obvious on the head is a bit of a turn-off. I always imagined it scratchier, like it was engraved, rather than the inky-tattoo-ness of this one.
3. The right arm is positioned oddly.
Other than that, the new one is better indefinitely. I approve!

I really like this one! I like the hands, but I wish the fingers would be closer together like in the current one (the hand in the forefront).

It took me a while to realize it was a skull on it's head, though. I sat there staring at it, trying to figure out if they were more than random squigglies.

Oh yes, I suppose it does look more like a neck. Jeebus, I never really paid much attention until now, and the chibi version makes more sense now. I think that the way I saw it, or it being a neck would be better than the floofy jabot.

I really like this, the shading is what caught my attention to it acually X3
I agree that the, what is it, neckthingy looks like a beard XD.
I personally wouldn't own one -doesn't want anything she can't draw- but, it is nice to look at <33

Hmm. Yes, it's better, but you all make good points.

I don't like the jabot. At all. In the original, it looked like a neck to me. I never thought anything different.
There seems to be a little bit too much shading. Except on the head, that's fine. It's just the shading on the body that's bothering me.
As for the symbol on it's head - I like the original much more. This one is too big and I prefer the x as opposed to the bones. I wouldn't even know that was supposed to be the bottom part of a skull (on the revamp) if someone hadn't mentioned it.

I have a Graveyard Ghostly, so I really hope they at least leave that one alone. :|

{edit} I guess I could mentioned what I would've voted for - neither :P
