Glade Malticorn and Celinox

Post by Jessi »

I figured it was about time these started getting their own threads :3

I love love LOVE the Glade Malticorn! It's such a fitting pose for it, it looks so coy! It also looks a bit chubby, which I personally love xD I just picture this fat, happy Malticorn eating yummy Peka Glade grass all day without a care in the world xD I wish I had more pet slots, because I really think this is adorable ;_;

I like the concept behind the Celinox, but the execution not so much. Because so much of its chest is showing, the bright green color really seems to take over the pet.. and it looks kind of 'neon'. I like that it's batting at the butterfly, but it doesn't seem to be shifting its weight right, or the entire body doesn't seem to be on the same plane... I don't really know how to explain it. Like I said, I like the idea but it's not doing much for me.

Okay I really wish I liked the Celinox MORE. I've been waiting for it since day one, and now that it's here I like it a lot but I don't... I don't LOVE it. :c

The crystals being hidden from sight kind of bother me, the Celinox's crystals are usually executed in a very unique fashion.

I'm also bugged by the certain dog-like-ness (does that make sense?) of the pose. I know Celinoxes are probably some weird combination of animals, but when they're in cat poses like this I feel like they need to be structured like a feline.

I'm also a little sad because I had hoped it would have an expression of contentment rather than silliness. :c BUT I still like it and I still plan to get one.

The butt spots turning into itty flowers are on Malticorn are brilliant and probably my favorite part of the pet :D That and the butterfly on the horn! More pet slots please?

Can I just say ditto Jessi on the Celinox? It does seem to be in two planes between the front half and the rear. The details are all really lovely though and I like that big orange flower on the tail.

Seerow, I didn't even notice the butt spots being turned into flowers - that is -adorable-! I love it!

Also, Dagger, I'm pretty sure the Celinox is mostly supposed to resemble a lynx... I've never really gotten a canine feel from it, but I definitely see where you are here, and it is a bit off-putting.

The Glade Celinox reminds me of a cheetah, probably because of the eye stripes and the crazy long legs. And because of that, OMG I LOVE IT. It's face is gorgeous, but the rest of it's anatomy could use a little work.

The glade celinox is very poorly done. Obviously the artist rushed it and didn't take the time to look at it closely. It looks like a wolf rather than a lynx, it's too neon, it has its arm in a position so it looks like it's dislocating its shoulder and twisting its paw, and it is posed so you can't see the crystals, which are a primary part of the Celinox and frankly, the most intriguing (they could've done something very pretty with them, like with the reborn Celi). Ugh. I was really excited to see it, too.

The glade malticorn is absolutely superb. No complaints about this. I love the position, anatomy is executed very well, and it is overall adorable. I love the little mushrooms beside the long curling tail! /squee/ That's saying something, considering I hate malticorns.

I'm not crazy about that light green color in the glade palette, so I don't like seeing so much of it on the glade Celinox ... but god, the pose its hind feet are in is adorable.

I agree that it's not executed perfectly (I think the comments about it looking like it's split between two planes are spot on), but we really don't have enough information to make those judgments. Pet art on Subeta is peer-reviewed before it's released, so I'm not sure it's actually possible to "rush" anything (review processes are notoriously slow--although I haven't seen how they do it on Subeta, of course).

The Malticorn is well-drawn, but I don't love it to it for personal reasons. I think it looks too cluttered with all of the flowers along its back, and I'm not fond of the shade of green that's most prominent on the pet, but those are both matters of opinion (and the latter's more or less a result of the species in question).

The Celinox, however... I absolutely adore it. I personally love the shade of green on the underbelly, the pose is frickin' adorable, and I love that it's interacting with its environment rather than just sitting there as some of the other Glade pets are posed. But most vital of all: it's a perfect fit for my pet and I'm going to use my Glade Potion as soon as I submit this post. :P

I am disappointed by the hidden spikes, and the eyes seem unusually yellow to me, but neither of those factors are huge deterrents for me.

I like both of them! I'm tempted by these.. but! I'll wait until the Glade Feli comes out before deciding.

The Celinox seems a little awkward to me as well, but not awkward enough for me not to consider getting it xD It reminds me of my cats when they see a fly.

And I always thought the Celinox was meant to be a lynx, too.

Malticorn is cute. :D

I like the pose of the celinox, but it's a bit difficult to tell which direction the light source is. :x It almost seems the top right or right, but the shading on the raised leg throws me off (would think the upper leg would have more shadow on it).

Ty's quite right. This was in no way rushed. Keshi actually spent a very long time on it trying to make it look right. Please don't go making assumptions that things were rushed! There's really no way for any pet art to be rushed, we review it sometimes for months before letting it out the door.

I'm with the minority here, I absolutely love the Glade Celinox. The pose is unique and, personally, well done. It makes it seem very cat-like. I'm debating if I want to change Vesperia into this, but even if I don't, I still think the Glade Celinox is a great addition.

They are both quiet nice! Neither of them are a must get for me. But they are still really nice.
The malticorn is just super cute. The pose fits is perfectly, the flowers in place of the butt spots is great and the butterfly on the horn is cute.
The Celinox is cute as well. When I first saw it the pose sorta felt off on me. But the more I've looked at it the more I've adjusted and grown to like it. I like that it's swipping at the butterfly, such a cute idea. I'm bummed you can't see the crystals. That was always my favorite part of a celinox.
