Trick or Treat at Edna's

Post by Jessi »

So! Neopets has a new Halloween feature. Every day from.. I assume now (maybe yesterday when the news got posted) until Halloween, you can stop by Edna's house to Trick or Treat.

http://www.neopets.com/halloween/edna/

There are two candy bowls to pick from, and apparently you can win an item, NP, or get tricked. I picked the purple bowl today and got 155 NP - like that douchebag who always gives you a dime instead of candy :<

Lindsey got NP too, so I have no idea what the tricks are like xD Still, it's something new to do every day!

I got some Magic Ghost Marshmallows. Gosh, looking at those brings back happy memories of the only plot I've ever been all-in for from start to finish. My pets practically lived on marshmallows for a week or two.

Yesterday I got about 100 nps; today I got a Spooky Doughnut.

Edit: You also get a bonus item if you do one each of the Brain Tree, Esophagor and Edna quests. Of course you have to do 2 Esophagor quests to get the Brain Tree answers, so the requirement is a little redundant.

If you're like me and haven't done Brain Tree/Esophagor quests in a while, make sure to pay attention when the Esophagor tells you the answers. I didn't and wound up wasting about 150k when I couldn't complete the Brain Tree quest. (I thought the answers filled in automatically once you did the Esophagor quests for some reason.) At least today I was lucky and he only asked for 2 cheap items, both of which I had in my SDB.

I think the quest bonus is a one-time thing, but I saw someone talking about doing them for a month, so I'll probably check back tomorrow to see if anything changes or if you can get the bonus item again, since no one answered my question on the Neoboards of why we would want to do them more than once.

Unless something very strange has happened to the price of spooky foods, you can just wait for another Brain Tree quest where the Esophagor parts are cheaper. I don't think I've ever spent more than 10k on a Brain Tree quest. The Brain Tree quest ends sooner than waiting for a different Esophagor quest does, but there's still a fair bit of time in the day to get two reasonable Esophagor quests in a row.

I remember as a newbie buying a copy of Neopian Encyclopedia A - E to try to read it to find out when the person died :)

I only overpaid for my quest last night because I thought it might be changing daily. Then I had to go to bed and couldn't wait out the next Esophagor quest I got for 250k anyway.

I got a halloween wishing well, a strange item. It's kind of nice, just doesn't do anything (gift item).

You've already been on a Brain Tree quest today
and must wait until tomorrow!

* It is currently 10/9. Time: 2:36:55 pm NST NST
* Next day begins in 23 hours and 36 minutes
I let my brain tree quest time out because I didn't want to pay 35k for an item for the esophagor. You can't make another attempt for 24 hours after that? Seriously!?

I don't think the "24 hours" thing is exactly right. I know I was allowed another go today, and it hadn't been that long yet. Maybe they've reduced the time?

Yeah, I also got an item after about 20 hours from getting one yesterday. Maybe it's one every day but it doesn't have to be 24 hours from the last one.

I got a Spooky Shake.... meh.
