The grarrl picture has way too many analogous colors. I can't focus on anthing else but this "dirty-yellow-thats-supposed-to-be-gold" scheme.

I think the backgrounds generally tend to be more interesting than the foregrounds in these things. Like in the grarrl one, you can see Lost Desert-y steps through one of the tents. Nice touch!

I think what gives me the heebiejeebies most with that grarrl is that dead eyeball staring at me. With the way the bottom lid is drawn it looks like a flap holding the eye in place so it doesn't fall out like a 2-dimensional disc. Brr, its more than a little unsettling.

I appreciate the new art, but I wish they'd put it into other things, but I guess it all has to change eventually.

Also, I never noticed before how the old slushie Eyrie is just a standard Eyrie with a lower beak drawn on the side. Nice little hack, that.

I don't know, I liked him being slightly sinister. I saw him as a bit of a witchdoctor; sure, he's only selling fruit, but who knows what sort of hallucinogenic or otherwise untoward effects they might have, like dodgy mushrooms.

The Faerieland Librarian is nice Best revamp so far, imho. Tyrannian Foods Shopkeeper is odd (but a definate improvement!).. and I won't even get started on the Grarrl and it's dead eye |D.

She seems to have painted herself orange into the bargain, and swapped "smug" for "seductive", which I like less. I also wish they had more new shopkeepers standing on all fours-- what's the point in having both quadruped and biped Neopets if you're going to turn all the former into the latter for no apparent reason? And the Lupe is one of the more famous quadruped species. I'm pleased in a geeky sort of way to see that the Toy Wand of Nova is still there, though.

She's not bad, but I dislike her expression.. and yeah, what is with the anthro craze lately? @_@; I liked how most of them were quad, but meh. I preferred the old one, but this one's alright.

The actual shopkeepers are just, I dunno, too different. Ya a lot of them are going Anthro, and many of their old expressions and personalities (?) that I thought of them to have had changed. I started to wonder if some of em were the original shopkeepers or not and others if they were actual neopets characters (the grroming parlor usual just doesn't look like a usul to me, but I guess its probably me) D:

But these are rather nice updates, the art is better. They've been using more shades lately, only if they could do that with the actual pets too. But anyways ya, these are nice updates for the shopkeepers. I like the way the images and layout of the shops are now^^
