Here is the MSP poogle,

Now I know what you're thinking, "I said MSP Poogle not Plushie!" but I'm afraid, this is the MSP Poogle. Good God it's awful!

...Well, it still has the malevolent grin.

...

No, no. Still not working for me. I don't think it looks butchered like some of the other pets, but it's certainly lost a lot of its charm and appeal. It looks like they took some version of the MSPP's head and stuck it on the plushie Poogle.

Has anyone else noticed this, there seems to be a distinct difference between male and female pets (at least for the Lupe)

Note the eyes:

(Names of Pets blurred because they are not mine)

I wonder if this is true of other species as well...

Edit: It seems to be true of the Draiks as well.

It's supposed to be true of every species, much to the chargin of some players. That said, some species/color combos seemed to escape the lashes: my robot acara doesn't have them, my mutant zafara is lacking them (though that may be a glitch), and even my brown xweetok doesn't have eyelashes. The only female pet I can really see them on is my Desert Kyrii.

ETA: Oh, wait, my zafara does have them.

Hmm

Post by hebdenhippy »

I've been noticing a lot of pets with mascara smothered eyelashes (wish I think look hideous), so maybe those are the female pets, and then the male pets get to look normal... right then, only male pets for me from now on :D

EDIT: No, that can't be right, my male Shoyru has eyelashes, and if I were to convert dragoncolour my darigan Shoyru (which I won't) , he'll have eyelashes too, sinsiter

I've noticed that female Kougras have half-lidded eyes, males don't, so I assume this is true for most species.

Ugh... I hate the half-lidded eyes, especially with thick eyelashes. The pets look like hookers... thank goodness the Wocky wasn't afflicted with half-lids.

So help me, I do like the new backgrounds option. A blue one makes my silver eyrie glow.

(Whether I like the silver eyrie art is an open question. On the one hand, zaa? On the other, glowing.)

I like the blue background as well. It's pretty cool

What I don't like is how a lot of pets are holding out their paws and are either clenching them or holding on to something (like riding a subway). It looks ridiculous

Hee, it's like that scene from the Gershwin segment of Fantasia 2000...where all the people bounce off the subway and into and out of the elevator, with their arms holding an imaginary bar.

I love that scene. I love that music. I HATE the pose on the Neopets.

And now I have the song stuck in my head. Peachy. XP

Ditto to all of that, but at least it made me smile.

One thing that I do like about the new layout is the daily trivia. It's kinda fun to feel superior when I know the answer every time. (Not that the trivia is difficult, but still.)

It's practically free money :P

I actively enjoy the neofriends box partly because I never know when any of my neofriends are online. I'd enjoy it more if it'd actually stay on the page once it was done loading.

Having given it a couple days, I don't completely hate the new layout. However, I'm still incredibly pissed that it came at the expense of our pets. If it were optional, the customization crap would be something I could ignore completely.

Red starry background FTW

Trivia

I second that! The trivia thing is rather cool, as is the Neofriends box, but we hardly needed a whole new layout just for that

Looking at shieboo's page although there are a few really rotten ones, the reposed base pets seemed to have mostly been okay, especially some like the peophin and flotsam which got a big revamp in the process. With that being said the redraws have still largely been butchered.. I didn't browse that far.. but to my surprise in the babies a lot of them are the same as the old except the kougra, which now looks like it's on crack.
