Neopets Email Notifiacations

I'm not sure if this is a new thing or not, but I just recieved two emails from the Neopets, that's right, the Neopets on my side accounts saying:

Hi there none! Im just emailing to say that I had a great time in the NeoLodge, and now its time for me to check out and go back to Neopia!. Thanks for being the best owner ever, and I hope all the other Neopets are jealous Speak to you soon, cheesey_glitch PS. I would like some more food!

Is this a new thing or not, and if not, does anyone else find it a bit, um, odd?

That's pretty old; I saved the first one I got several years ago because I thought it was cute. After they kept arriving, they ceased to be cute and became annoying.

It makes me wonder why I don't get them on my main account despite that fact that I have never had a different email address and I put my pets in the Neolodge all the time. :S
