For the same reason that rules get enforced inconsistently--the right hand has no freaking clue what the left hand is off doin'.

You're quite right, I was thinking of Nimmo's, not Gecko's/Techo's - got my herptiles in a mix....

Could a techo be a newt? I always figured it was a lizard, but I don't remember any mentionings of techos having scales.

I'm fairly positive it's a gecko, many gecko's don't really have obvious scales and rather seem to have smooth skin.

Plus the rhyming of Techo/Gecko has sort of always solidified that for me.
