...what's up with the Pound?

Post by atrophia »

I took a temporary Neopets (and by extension, Neocolours  ) break for awhile due to having to work, and the first thing I notice when I get back on is this: ERROR : The pound is down for maintenance!

The FC'ers on the Neoboards say it's been like three or four months

To be more precise, it's been down since roughly the 27th April, when Customisation happened. I don't think there's an estimate for it to return yet.

(mods: is this a new feature or does it go in Misc?)

Since it's months old, I'm putting it in Misc. Hee.

How hard could it possibly be to recode the pound? I used to start refreshing the news page thirty minutes early because I was so excited the pound might open that day... now I don't even check anymore. Four months is ridiculous.

Symmie, as I think others have mentioned, the problem with the pound not being open yet isn't so much about recoding as it is about deciding what to do with clothing items in regards to inevitable farming/stripping of desired clothes from painted pets. Still, it really is inexcusable that it's taken them so long to decide on a solution and implement it. I know that some of our members made quite good, practical, workable suggestions as to how it might be dealt with -- and that discussion was ages ago.

Maybe they just forgot about it. Or decided to forget.

Wow I didn't really realise how long the pound had been down for. I really would like to knwo what they're renevating or changing about it. Im pretty sure that it'll look a whole lot nicer. I just wish it was opened already. :(
