I'm in the process of sorting out the brackets and bracket leaders- I'll PM the brackets to them ASAP and then they'll get in touch with each of you. They will want to know a wishlist, so for the sake of the person who is buying for you, if you haven't got one yet or you want to amend yours then you have about a week to do it in.

Also, bearing in mind that there is a fair chance the forum will go down, it might be a good idea to supply your bracket leader with an email address- we can try to neomail you, too, if you don't have it set to neofriends only. And lastly, if you don't keep an eye on http://community.livejournal.com/the_nc/ then you might consider doing so- especially if the forums go down.

EDIT:

For the benefit of the bracket leaders, and, well, everyone I'm going to try to illustrate how giving items to the bracket leader is going to work, and how they'll be giving them out, with a lovely example:

Alice is the bracket leader. Bob, Clarice and Dave are in her bracket.

Bob buys for Clarice,
Clarice buys for Dave, and
Dave buys for Bob.

Alice sets up junk trades on her Neopets account. She tells each person to bid on a specific item: Bob is to bid on mossy rocks, Clarice will bid on rotten shoes and Dave will bid on pickled olives. Alice collects in the gifts and makes a note of who sent them so she knows who to send them to. Then Alice tells Bob, Clarice and Dave to make some junk trades on their own neopets accounts and to send her the links to them. She gives each of them their presents by bidding on their junk lots. Everyone is happy. The end.

Hey everyone - I know signups are closed, but I'm bumping this slightly because I forgot something important in all my bracket PMs and this is the easiest way to get it across to you.

People in my bracket: PLEASE try to have your items to me by December 20th! I am driving to Chicago on the 24th with FMD, and I don't want to be rushing around trying to send items when we get to Chicago after a 10 hour drive! I'm planning on sending my items out on the 23rd, so I would like them a few days ahead of time to get organized!

And that leads me to my last point: SEND ME YOUR WISHLISTS. It's not fair to your SS if they have to rush around because you didn't bother to send me your wishlist until the last minute. Thank you.

I haven't quite done sending out second PMs to the people in my bracket, apologies to the people who haven't yet been told which junk items to bid on- it's been a chaotically busy week for me, but I'm less busy now. I would like everyone to try to get their items to me by the 18th of December because I don't want to be running round on the 23rd chasing people up. If you're the kind of person who leaves things to the last minute or tends to push deadlines, then keep the 18th in mind as your deadline!

I'll probably be giving things out from the 22nd onwards- I like to have my presents as close to the 25th as possible, but I realise that this isn't going to suit everyone. Let me know if you're going to want things before a particular day, because you're going to be without internet access, say. Also, if you're feeling helpful you could link to your junk trade lot in a post here on this topic. That way I don't have to go fishing around in your trades. If you forget to put a junk trade up to receive your presents, you won't get anything until you do put one up

I read Jessi's post, knowing I had only two people's gifts in... and then soon after I receive another two people's things. Which is more than half, yay! This makes me feel a lot less stressed. Now I can tell my bracket in a bit more detail about how I'm going to give things out:

If you're going to need more than one junk trade lot to receive your items, I'll let you know by PM. If you're in my bracket and you need to receive your presents from me before the 23rd of December, you need to say so, too (fetching out all the items from my sdb and bidding them will take a little while, so when I do send things out it won't be to every person in the bracket all at once). Don't worry if your SS has received things but you haven't, I won't have forgotten you. I'll just be wishing it was possible to partition my sdb, and busily double checking that I have all the right items for the right person, and fitting it in around offline stuff.

....and I just got an official warning from TNT because apparently Secret Santa programs are often used as a method of scamming. Bizarrely, they didn't bother to delete the offending lot- possibly they were looking to warn/freeze whoever bid on it as well. I took it down, just in case.
