Random Tiki Arts

Post by Tiki »

:B This seems to be the cool thing to do these days, so I'll start a thread as well! Just posting art that I'm particularly happy with for one reason or another.

First picture: brand new art of Spore that I finished today! I'm really happy with him, especially since I can see some definite improvement since my last image of him from 2008.

Wow! Spore looks fantabulous!

I love those particular shades of brown-maroon and gold - they're so rich. And - always have to add that I cannot draw worth a lick, and am not an artist - I think they work particularly well with the straightforward lines of the drawing.

Been doing quite a few commissions lately. Here's a few I like in particular. :] I've been getting such *random* requests, but I enjoy it infinitely more than the usual "montre, kumos, montre, kumos, cat, montre."

Ah man, those are great! I especially love the shading on the sad Bumbus and the last one [Velosotor? x3;]. You made the Archan look great as well; their anatomy is a little awkward in official art, but you made him look a lot more realistic :3

Double post yay.

This one was for Seerow, and it's so different from what I usually draw. :D It was good to have a change of pace!

How awesome! You are getting a great style.

Out of curiosity, what program do you work in? ^_^

Thanks! <3 I use SAI, which I first found as a free trial and I liked it so much that I forked over the money for the full version. It doesn't have nearly as many features as other programs, but the linework is so smooth and the tools are so intuitive that I almost feel like I'm cheating half the time when I draw. xD

Here's a flatcolor deer that is in progress, but I like it already without the shading. Not bad for my first deer/antlephore.

^ fully agree with the comment about Sai, I use that for my custom overlays all the time now, it really does feel like cheating but in such a good way XDD

that is some fantastic anatomy on the deer/antlephore. I am particularly fond of the front turned hoof and of course the challenging pose :3
the little chritter on the horns is just too adorable as well, really want to see this shaded <33

Also I must commission you in the future for pet art 8|

The quality in your art just amazes me, Tiki; I seriously can't stop staring at the one for Seerow. So lovely!
I'm going to ditto Heilos and say that you may be getting more commission requests in the future <3

Today I finally decided to open PayPal slots because I figured, what the hell, the worst that can happen is a slight kick to the ego when they are ignored. xD Sure enough, two of the slots filled up rather quickly! :D And when I told the boy that I was going to make a quick $14 just for doodling on my silly pet site, he suddenly gained the opinion that it isn't such a silly site after all. ROFL!
