Nice start ^^ maybe less /random/ shading, some parts are dark when they do not need to be (there is no shadow above) work a little more on the beak and feet, they look a little scruffy the back looks a little hunch-back, maybe cut that down and it's arm looks a little liney like used with the line tool, not free hand one =3 I like your idea though, evil with a rose very nice reminds me of Beauty and the Beast =p also maybe use more than two tones ^^; I didn't on my picture but I did on another and it looks good just zoom in the real image and get a light, medium and dark and a VERY dark, then like LIGHTMEDIUMDARKVERY.DARK that.
*wonders why on earth you'd paint a faerie pet darigan*
xP I tried labbing my ex-lab rat Cerastela for Faerie/Darigan ^^ but she went Halloween, now she's just and old bruce living in neovia xP
^ that's my latest art work of my Usuki boy usul named Dhaaro, look at his arms there are darker parts where his neck-fur is and on his tail there are dark parts where his hair is (the corner one) his hat has a feather which darkens part of the hat, and his pants are dark because of his Thing =s its like a poncho but not one xP just that's an example.
don't look the Petpet in the eyes *shields* it's rubbish rofl.

YAY! criticism! *scurries away to try and fix picture*
About the faerie to darigan thing-he was zapped that way, which is better looking than basic, while I'm trying to raise enough money to achieve most of my wishlist at the same time.

that's a really cute picture
If you're after crits, this is what I'd probably do next time:
- use bezier in Paint for the lines rather than freehand; it makes them a lot smoother. You create a line and can then bend it twice.
- shadows should be a little more pronounced if it's sunny- they're often a lot darker than the ground, if you think about your own shadow
- avoid the airbrush tool, because it's difficult to get right
- save as a gif/png instead of a jpg, because the colours tend to bleed with a jpg.

Bezier is the one which looks like a mirrored s, next to the straight line tool. It does take some practice to use well, but it also draws nicer curves than you can by hand as Jazzy said.

There...fixed? Any more comments?
I took out the airbrush, saved as jpg, tried bezier, darkened the shadows, shaved down his humpback a little, and discovered blur on Adobe. (YAYness!!)
Probably enjoyed Blur a little too much, but I'm working on it.

Yeah, I really did fall in love with blur too much.
Is there any other way to make the pixelly look go away, without making everything look fuzzy/blurry?

I find the best way is to just draw an outline, fill it with the lightest colour of the object you want to use, then just gradually layer up the object where it would be shaded, but making it darker very gradually, so the colour seems to blend very nicely.danceu4ia wrote: Is there any other way to make the pixelly look go away, without making everything look fuzzy/blurry?
I don't know if that made any sense, i hope it did O.o

I like it.
I'm no good at computer art so I like all art done on a computer at the moment .
My latest computer artwork was pretty weird looking but here it is:
(just to show you that your art is better )
I can't shade for my life but the random shading makes the picture seem a little off.[/url]

The names either Llama, Jack or Tasha
(my real name being Tarsha but I never use it xP)
Leave the purple pets alone! The orange spots happen to be one of the best contrasts in neopets

It makes sense...it would make more sense if I could see an example? Do you have a site where I could look at what you/someone else did to achieve that?Dead Webby wrote: I find the best way is to just draw an outline, fill it with the lightest colour of the object you want to use, then just gradually layer up the object where it would be shaded, but making it darker very gradually, so the colour seems to blend very nicely.

Ahh...you're right...'tis "name" not word...
Maybe I planned that all along. *shifty eyes*
I was just going off memory, I was too lazy to look it up
That'll learn me.
EDIT: A ha! I'm not the only one...take a look at this!! *Dramatic pointing*
