stained glass (Neopets related)

Post by daisybell »

So, last time I said I wanted to try something Neopets related, and here's what I did:

Image

Yes, it's my good old friend the djuti. I decided a petpet would be better than a Neopet, and quickly settled on the djuti. With not many reference images to go on, I blew up the original petpet image and traced basic outlines.

You can see him here a bit more closely:

He was pretty difficult to make, especially the neck parts with the collar. I'm happy with the result, although my soldering needs more practice. My next project is a windowsill clock made of hexagons and it's a nice relief to go back to straight lines after all those curves, hee.

That's very nifty, Daisy 8) Nice work!

Are you going to submit it to the Art Gallery (If not, why not :P) ?

That is totally awesome and must be sumitted to the art gallery immediately (if you haven't already).

My one and only stained glass project was a gryphon head the size of my hand with only 7 pieces. Doing it totally increased my respect for stained glass and the people who can make more complicated pieces. I for one am suitably impressed.

Wow, I have no idea how I missed this gem. That's gorgeous, daisy! I could never cut accurately enough for complicated pieces; nothing ever fit together without a LOT of grinding ^^; (Probably didn't help that I insisted on the highly texturized and otherwise awkward-to-cut textures of glass!)

I am awed by the craftsmanship in this, good job and can't wait to see the next piece!
