SPCA oil painting (Cranberry's Biber)

Post by Elzaim »

Some of you may remember me asking for pet/animal photos a couple weeks ago for a project I was doing for my local SPCA. Well, Cranberry's kitty 'Biber' was the picture chosen as the winner for me to paint, and well, here's the finished product. I hope you enjoy.

(Sorry for my ugly stove in the background - it was the only decent lighting I could find!)

Here's hoping it sells for a good price to get the SPCA the much-needed cash it requires to keep saving animals! :)

Aw. I didn't follow that thread closely (I don't have a lot of photos of my own pets), but I'm glad you picked the photo you did and the painting is lovely.

It translated very well to canvas. I hope it does well in the auction!

Aw wow, that's a really nice painting of Biber there. I can't ever imagine being able to paint like that myself. I hope it does well at the auction.

That's gorgeous! You did such a good job of capturing his smug expression. :) He was an awesome cat.

Fan-freakin'-tastic. That cat looks like he's plotting something.

Amazing texture on the fur. I can't paint for crap, and I always appreciate someone who excels at it because it's much harder than it looks.

Sorry this is so late, but I figured I should reply with the results of the art show.

It went amazingly well, and the total profit raised for the SPCA was 1400$. Money which they desperatly need.

And a little bit of a brag because I can (hehe)... my painting was the first piece bid on the night of the show, for a cool 85$. Consequentally, it sold for 85$ and was one of the three top-selling pieces (the other two sold for 100$ a piece). :)

Thank you again Cranberry for the wonderful picture of Biber! He got to play his part in a great cause. :)
