Again, thanks for the help, it's all appreciated. Especially once I get some poor souls to upload and date most of these after the testing has been completed
Regarding the faeries: I don't have a current use for those. They may be useful in the future, so if you want to, you can keep them around, but I won't use them at the moment.
As for pets that still have the old poses - because I grabbed all the existing poses, I already have those
That helps a lot! It's been saved (as has everything else that's not on the Neopets servers).elosc wrote: well... apparently on Jan. 24, 2004, I decided it would be a good idea to download the happy pose of every pet in every color then available. So I included all the ones that have been redrawn since then: acara, eyrie, kacheek, koi, kougra, kyrii, lupe, moehog, mynci, nimmo, pteri, quiggle, techo, tuskaninny, and wocky.
I also have all poses of the old Yellow Lupe, as well as, from Dec. 2002, the happy poses of all blue pets (only revamped ones included) and skeiths, and the old halloween and mutant ones. Everything is dated.
Hope this helps!

Neocolours' old older images support was broken, so I can't copy those straight away, but it's something to use later on when building the archive further.ETA: Another suggestion: use the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... ours.co.uk (the url tag was *not* working...)
. It's an archive of neocolours so it's not *actually* a different website..... well, arguably.

ell, the thing about the wayback machine is it can take you far, far back.. even back into a time when the older images part of neocolours was still working...Joeno wrote:Neocolours' old older images support was broken, so I can't copy those straight away, but it's something to use later on when building the archive further.ETA: Another suggestion: use the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... ours.co.uk (the url tag was *not* working...)

No, it got turned into the Unicorn Gem and unicorn pets got turned red.
A few years ago, I looked through all the pets that used to be able to be painted unicorn and looked for colours they had in common; at the time, there were none (except for the basics), thus they couldn't have been turned into a paintbrush colour.
Also, white was out *before* unicorn - you could get white lupes before unicorn lupes came out, so that's definitely not it

Another good place:

Also, taking individual pet URLs and going to http://www.archive.org really helps!

Sorry, I seem to have forgot that.oogabooga wrote:Chocolatefairy, Joeno's said he doesn't want to get any from other sites... (dunno if archive.org counts, but the Neopets Archeology site definitely does)
I actually put the archeology one there mostly because I thought it was cool and wanted to share it with other people.
Not really for Joeno to use; that would be his decision.
I'll see if I can find some ones for him to use just by looking around Neopets' shopkeepers and such.
Update for this feature!
The basic support for this has been written, and can be accessed by adding &oldpos=on to any viewclrs.php URL that refers to a single pet. This will not persist to all pages yet - I want to get the bugs out of the current system first before doing that.
Currently, the system gives the image that has been retrieved from the Neopets servers - it's the same as the current one, but now stored locally in preparation for any potential future revamps - as well as any older ones that need to be uploaded. I'll try to remove display of the current image in the future, unless people like seeing it, but I've basically been lazy there up to now.
I'm slowly uploading old poses - in fact, only the Darigan Grundo is there at the moment - but these take some time to figure out, and I'm doing several things at the same time at the moment . I'll be looking for some help with this later, after the basic testing for the uploading system has been completed.
A few stored poses are broken links, mostly because I haven't gotten around to fixing them. If you find these, please post the link to the pet in question so that I can do some shuffling and renaming.
If you've got any other comments, feedback, and so on, I always love to hear it.
