Hydrus Malticorn and Revamped Hydrus Rreign

Not sure if the Malticorn's a revamp, but the Rreign definitely is. Too bad I didn't save it on my comp. Liking the ferocity of the Rreign (as well as the fact that the wings are more proportioned to its body now, unlike the standard colors). Is it just me, or is it bigger body-wise than the normal Rreign? Malticorn is a Malticorn, so it's an instant "meh" for me.

The Rreign is very nice, probably the first Hydrus pet I've ever liked. The fierce expression does it for me, and the overall details are well done.

(I'd also like to take this chance to state how much I hate the double R in Rreign..... It just looks so awkward. ><)

Haha... I hate the rreign. I pretty much dislike all rreigns, so maybe my opinion doesn't matter. It has all sorts of lumps and bulbous parts and such awkward bone structure. I think the face is awful--it looks misshapen, not fierce. It's like the nostrils, the eyes, and the teeth are all on different, non-parallel planes.

But I will say that the fin-wings are really, really lovely.

I....really love the Rreign XD and I usually find the species very bland and boring but WOW DO I LOVE THIS ONE. There's a few little nitpicks with the anatomy but it's not enough to ruin how beautiful I find it DDD; I think what really sets it off is the golden highlights on the wings and scales *touches*
Edit: now that I take a second look though, I can see what people mean about it looking bulky and the face does look a bit odd, but overall I still like it.

I'm sort of half and half about the malticorn, I love the idea for the pose and everything up until the front part of the pet, it's shoulders are really bothering me for some reason, they just look a bit off, I know it's suppose to be hunched up in a pose like that but it's not working for me, otherwise the coloring and shading on it is lovely O:

Edit: Actually i know what else that's bothering me now like someone said, the sail fins on the back aren't following the contour of the body (they really do look just stuck on) so they make the malticorn look really stiff

The Rreign hasn't had very many impressive redraws. But this is actually a pretty okay revamp. I like the expression and colours, especially on it's tummy, but that's all I like. It looks very bottom-heavy. The wings, while the concept is nice and unique, it kind of looks like the extended wing is a bit cramped. Maybe it's just me. But nonetheless, it's an okay revamp, and was much needed.

The Malticorn. The big fin does not make it look bigger, it actually makes the Malti look skinnier and inferior. Again, another Hydrus that looks mad, but doesn't have the scrunched up muzzle to prove it. A little bit of teeth showing wouldn't hurt. I haven't liked the Malti before, after the revamp, and now with the Hydrus.

Does anyone have the old rreign image saved? I don't have any memory of it existing, so I guess I'd just skipped over it, like I tend to do with pets I don't particularly like. My complaints about its face match Ty's. It looks as though it's been in a few too many boxing matches. The wings are very pretty, and my eyes keep being drawn to them.The rest of it, especially the face, looks too small and over-detailed. The hands and feet seem strangely contorted and swollen, and there's just too much happening in the image.

The malticorn is disappointing. Sail-fins are nice and have worked really well on recent hydrus pets, but it's an uninspired addition here. It looks like any regular malticorn, with fins glued to its back. The right front leg has some sort of broken bone or lump popping out of the joint, and something more creative could have been done with the horn.

What pets don't have a Hydrus option yet? It seems like the artists are churning them out now--maybe a little too quickly.

Old Hydrus Dragon. This Dragon suffers from what all Dragons do; lumpy body symptom. The head does look really small and more misshapen then usual. The wings are really pretty though.

The Malticorn is decent. Not my favorite Malticorn, but definitely far from my least favorite. I like the simplicity of it overall and the fins on the back. I think I would have liked it to be a bit fiercer though, maybe snarling or something. A wickeder looking horn could have been neat too.

I kinda like the rreign. The wings are beautiful, all the horns/ fins/ details are nice, and I don't mind the face in the least. But it does look very chunky.

The malticorn looks kinda determined, which is to say, it looks like it's about to try jumping over a ravine or something. XD The fins on the back don't seem to be working here.

I love the wings on the rreign... but that's about it. It seems awfully small, like it wasn't drawn in a way that would make it resize easily, and so much of the detail is lost. The things bothering me the most about it actually aren't the face, but are the arms, which just look oddly and uncomfortably placed, especially its left. I dunno, just... overall not very impressed.

The Malticorn is okay. I like the pose a lot, but I do find it to be somewhat boring - it looks like a regular Malticorn with some random hydrus parts pasted on, and not particularly hydrus. Like I said, I love the pose, but I agree that the face looks like it's -trying- to be angry but isn't quite there.

I find myself really liking the rreign. I love the design of the head and the way the wings look. The body I agree is bulky looking and the arms look odd. But other then that I say it's a big improvement from the old one.

The malticorn is alright. The pose is nice but other then that it does seem plain. Jessi pretty much said my exact thoughts on it.

I'm liking the rreign as well. I think if I were to get a hydrus pet or a rreign, this would be it.
