Web Design Examples/ Subeta Application
Web Design Examples/ Subeta Application
So, I am applying for Web Designer, but I want to post my "portfolio" here first to get suggestions on what to change, add, or keep...Please be honest! Try to post here and not on the comments on dA...Thanks

First off, get rid of every part of your description that describes your own work as mediocre, subpar, and not your best. Why would would someone hire you if even you say that your work is bad? People have eyes and can judge for themselves, and it might cause them to wonder if they're only good enough for your scrap work. It's okay to mention what the requirements for the employer were to explain why something was done. It lets people know that you're willing to do what your asked, even if pink sparkly text doesn't rate high on your list of neat things. As for your actual designs, I would try to come up with a couple more that use only Subeta images and graphics you've made yourself.

Thank you, I was iffy on the descriptions myself, so that's why i have a topic like this.

Bacon, out of curiosity, are you over 18? I didn't think you were, and you have to be 18 or over to apply. But I could be totally wrong.

Yes, I am...actually, I'm almost 19...Sorry...I do act immature at times...

I think you should also put in why you want the job, and a little bit more about yourself than factual information on the design layouts, or even better make an 'Internet cover letter'. It obviously shouldn't be a novel about your personality, but it wasn't recognizable as a job application without a mild personality overview, or why the pages were there. I think they'll check your DA mainpage, but if you left the text itself on an individual page, or how you came up with the idea, etc. They'd be more interested in getting to know you.
Good job on the pages, BTW!

I made a cleaner idea for a homepage with all my own graphich which you can see here: http://hiddenchaos.com/subeta/index.html
I included it in my application.
EDIT: Does the irc disliking me for finding out its location through google hurt my chances?

I suppose that entirely depends on what you did when you went in there...

I quite like your newest layout! The shades of blue are so nice.

Well obviously your work is good and looks like you are a pro. I may agree to the other post here that you must not say any about what you cannot do or your weakness. Tell about your strength or the things you can do to uplift yourself and help you find a good job.
