Yeah. I was bored and decided to draw something for Ixi Day Art Gallery. A Royalboy Ixi ended up appearing. And since I have more of a chance getting in if the picture has a background ...
Anyone have any suggestions as to what sort of background would go well with him?
Also comments/crits are fine, too.

If he doesn't get in the ixi day art gallery I'll eat my shoe. Terrific draw, shading, expression.. no faults whatsoever.
I either see him in the some old library or in the castle, eyeing some busty ixi girl painting

That's lovely
As for a background, I would say a simple stone archway? You could use it to give the picture depth and perspective but without cluttering the image?

Thanks guys.
I asked around elsewhere too and someone suggested a portrait type thing. Kept trying several things, but finally settled on the portrait frame.
Turned out alright, I think:

Aww, so cute.
I like the way you did his nose/mouth, so many people can't get that bit right when they're drawing Ixis. It's well done.
And I love all his little swirls, especially the beard. The beard is my favourite part of the whole thing.

Portrait frame was a good idea! I like how he's not a full out, straight legged, completely humanized anthro - more just he decided one day to walk upright and put clothes on. He's so damn smug looking.
Great job all around.

I love the colours, they're very bold- the portrait looks good too.
