I'm not a huge Apple fan but all the same this is sad news, if not unexpected.

Sad that he died so young; of course he's been sick for a while. One question that comes up is whether Apple will change direction now that he's gone. It's been a hugely innovative company but also one that seemed to expect a monopoly from having introduced a new product concept to last forever, like no one else would ever put out a GUI or a smart phone. I wonder if that will change in the future.
