Put another in the group of those who love the desert Hissi! :D Just Awesome. Even the fake beard (I love ancient Egypt). Nice combo of the Corba and the Pharaoh.

Striped... Meh. *toss it out with the dish water*

Desert is way too busy. The headdress confuses me - it has unnatural stripes as if it's supposed to be a garment, yet it's *attached* to the Hissi's head. Also, the beard is unneccesary. At least the jewelry is beautiful.

I recognize the vast, unventured potential in the Striped Hissi, but I kinda like it just because I like girly colours and Hissies in general.

I won't care about either of these if I get into the AG and get my own Hissi, of course. *holds breath*

Aqua -- your striped hissi is gorgeous. I wish neo would do more real-life resembling paint brushes. I suppose this keeps striped from inflating, though.

Striped -- I wish it had the colors of the Striped Flotsam and Shoyrus, or even that of the Acara.

Desert -- Very nice and creative, though it has a look of "Give me a hug! *bite*"

Because that would involve thinking outside the box and making less famous colours worthwhile.

I like the striped colours. But it had so much potential that's all.

Desert is nice, I cant see it as a real beard only a fake one so it doesn't bother me. So yay for desert. ^^

Aww, crap. I saw page 3 first and saw Aqua's awesome striped and was excited, then turned to page 1 to see a useless, boring, crappy one >___>;
Huggles wrote:The beard is wrong considering how snakes move, although hissi can fly, and not very attractive anyway. It's hood isn't completely connected to its body either, and that kind of bothers me. Still, it's pretty nice even though I'm not running out to get one.

Considering what they've done here and on most striped pets, I suppose anything more than 50k is too much for the brush. *goes grarken crazy*

Ditto.

I don't really like the desert. It just seems off to me. Not very nice at all, no.

Desert - 6/10.
Striped - 1/10.

I think the hissi is really cool. I did a study on Tutankhamun a looong time ago, and the beard was a symbolism of a pharoah, and Tutankhamun had a snake and bird on his head to symbolise that he ruled North and South Egypt, and he wore a lot of jewelery, as half his tomb seemed to be necklaces and earrings. It's kinda like they incorperated the ideas into
the snake. :)

I can't believe people are actually using Grarkenstomples.

*g* It's a cool word. *g*

And I would also use it for the Striped Hissi...if I only could write it. *g*

But the Desert one is awesome! Cobra! Yeah! And the beard doesn't bother me, I even didn't see it at first. *g*

Desert is OK, not a colour I'd want myself but it looks like there was some effort put into making it original, which is good. I agree that it would look better reposed because the standard Hissi circle pose doesn't do it justice- everything is happening in the top half of the picture so it looks cramped and busy.

I don't think it is even worth bothering with striped- TNT are set on having every single striped pet look the same. Which is fine if your idea of striped means pastel blue with pinky purplish triangular blobs. Most people would disagree.

I kinda like Desert to be honest, I agree that it looks too busy with the beard {girls never wore beards even in ancient egypt TNT ><}. It would've looked nicer as a Royal though. As for the Striped TAKE IT AWAY!!! i was hoping for something a little more original, the hissi had so much potential for a decent striped colour and TNT screwed it up. Ah well, at least Queza's proper colour's Faerie, so I don't have to worry about this too much.

Now everyone is gonna hate me for saying this, but I actually Like the striped. Puts me in mind of the faerie Eyries that I liked so much. I am considering painting my Hissi this color. I like the fact that its not an eyeburning color like the Striped Floatsam/Shoy. I wish they had made the stripes a little more natural looking, like with slightly wobbly outlines like on the normal Hissi but in stripes instead of spots. But I like the colors they used, I don't really want another black color with stripes, cos then things start getting a bit mono-chrome. I mean if you want a dark colored Hissi, you have Shadow, Fire will probably come out soon, as well as Grey, which is always a dark shade. So really Im just glad its not black. All I would like to see changed is some squiggly-ness and outlining to the stripes though, to make the shape of them more natural but keep the color.

Desert is OK but I think they tried to shove too many elements on it. It should have just had a hood that was striped and a crown, no head-dressy part and no beard. Beard is cute for a male but it just doesnt work if its for a female pet.

gomababe wrote:{girls never wore beards even in ancient egypt TNT ><}
As someone else alluded to earlier in the thread, Egypt's handful of female pharaohs often did wear beards and present themselves as male, because 'pharaoh' was a male role regardless of the gender of the person actually filling it. (This kind of occupational gender-bending still happens in some tribal African cultures and among the Inuit and, of course, theatre people.) So I think this is actually pretty cool, because Neopets can never have enough gender-bending; anyway, at the end of the day this Hissi is less gender-marked than the Desert Chomby and Ixi, for example, and definitely less gender-marked than the Desert Kau, which is based on Het-Heru, one of the girliest gods in the pantheon.
