How does one draw a snake?

Post by Silverevilchao »

Head, scales, body, the whole thing, though it's really the head that's got me baffled. I have a Hissi that I desperately want to draw, but I can't seem to get it right. Is it possible to have help on this?

Google snake images, draw heads from there. It helps to look at the underlying skull structure as well.

I agree, your best bet is to look at the real thing. Deviant has a simple scale tutorial I think. I'll check in a bit and post the link if I find it.

When I was drawing my Hissi for the first ever time, Paint gave me a piece of advice- make the body reasonably thick. That's pretty much all I know about drawing snakes, sorry.

You may find <a href="http://herpetology.com/anatomy.gif">this</a> useful.
