Using brushes in the GIMP

Hey all,
I downloaded The GIMP, and then recently downloaded some brushes to use off of deviantART, but I don't know how to get the brushes//use them in GIMP...can someone tell me how?
I'm using GIMP 2, if that's needed information. Thanks!
