Can you Kerubi fans give me a few pointers so I know for next time? I swear, with Chim and Jag as fellow staff members, I'm starting to feel like my art is just not up to par anymore :(
Honestly, the Darkmatter was OK I think the Bloodred needed a tweak more than the Darkmatter.

I like the Evil ear horn things, whereas the normal ones are fluffy but these are not, I think this could do with a whole new pose more blood and more black and dark.

With the Galactic, I like the pose although the legs in the air (front ones) look really really stiff and stuck there, doesn't look like they have a joint.

I really like both of these Kerubis, Rah, and am thinking about getting the darkmatter one the next time Orotha feels up for a change (he has severe self-esteem issues and whenever he's feeling too badly about himself he goes in for an extreme makeover =); it'll probably be a minute though, as he just became an arid Torrent a week or so ago. :P

And I like the galactic one, but not quite so much as I like darkmatter.

I love the Keeto, lovelovelove the Keeto. But I have no room. Dammits. *smites pet limits*

I don't like the Clawsion, a lot, and I don't like the Torrey, a lot. The Torrey looks like it has a broken neck and the Clawsion's feet are huge and in the way.

Did I mention I really like the Keeto? Good.

I adore the Kanis' ickle gold paws; I want it just for that. <3

And the Dragon, Serpenth, and Paralix are all very well done, although not pets I'll need to own. Of those three the Dragon is my favorite, although it would probably be the Serpenth if I could see its body more clearly; it took the whole 'floating in the darkness of space' vibe a tad too seriously. ^^

Nice crop this month. Thankfully, as I have no room, none that I need to own right now.

*hides from Keeto and Kanis*

The Galactic Kerubi grew on me enough to change Moiety into one temporarily, while I decided on her personality. The ickle silver paws got me. I'm not a huge Kerubi fan besides that - it's the pet, not the art - so I can't offer up anything on them.

I also figured out one thing that bothers me about the Paralix, Dragon, and Serpenth from this batch. I know they're all Chim's, and it just struck me today - none of these three use the light blue that most others use. That's part of the reason they seem so dark compared to the others in this batch.

I really enjoy the sort of fleshy quality a lot of ChimaeraAndDream's pet art has. However....

Spare me. The way to deal with criticisms about the anatomy in your art is not to tell your critics that they're wrong because your friend said so. This is a particularly huge problem with fantasy artists, who get to hide behind that 'Well, it's a dragon! It can look how I like!' fallacy. No, it can't look how you like. There are ways in which the bodies of animals are put together and ways in which they aren't, and your audience will notice if you've drawn one of the ways in which they aren't, because your audience is not the bunch of idiots you're treating them like.

*deep breath*

I'm surprised to find I like the Clawsion too. It's the only Clawsion I like in any way.

It struck me as particularly silly given that, while I don't know who XPrimalEyesX is, I can say with a high degree of certainty that he or she is not actually a dragon. Telling your critics to defer to the authority of your friend on the grounds that your friend is a nonexistant creature? Just silly.

My good buddy Kirby says that there's no such thing as anatomy, either.

Yeah, that was one of the dumber things I've seen in the news lately. I'm pretty sure no one actually is a dragon, and so shunting criticism of the art off in that direction was a bit . . . inane.

Man. I want that Keeto. *flees*

No need to beat yourself about it Rah, you should know by now you are an exceptional artist. Your koras are off the charts. And Kamil is right, that torrey seriously needs it neck checked.

Neither of your kerubis is badly drawn, far from it - all kerubi elements are there but as proportions are a bit different and accents are placed on different places they come of as a bit dissimilar species (or more like your interpretation of it).

Your kerubis come of as a more realistic looking animal (kerubi itself is a bit cartoony). Bodies of galactic and DM one came out more solid and raccoon like while original I think leans more towards squirrel with its tiny body. Also, original kerubi (and also spectrum and reborn one) has a huge accent on its tail and wings - they take a lot of space and are drawn very symmetrically and gracefully. On your two kerubis those two elements play a somewhat secondary role and are toned down.

As for face - I think you did fairly well, considering I find it impossible to draw their faces as their as the art of it is completely alien to me. It has some manga-ish style I'm totally unfamiliar with. Galactic kerubi's face is actually starting to grow on me :)

Oh, another thing about DM kerubi unrelated to the topic. Its aura is now pink instead of purple. I realize over 50% DM pets have pink aura, but I always liked purple ones much better but that's more personal preference than anything else ;)

Oh, I absolutely ADORE that Paralix. @_@ So so so awesome. The dragon is nice too, except that they aren't supposed to have wings (though I do like it with wings). Unfortuently still no Tigrean or Aerie, I'll just have to wait until tommorow to see if either is released. If not, I'll have to change one if my pets into that Paralix.

Chimera does the dillemas, yes? I think that's why I don't like the scaly ones as much as I normally would. Fleshy works, but squishy is what comes to mind when I think of her style. On the dillemas, I think it's perfect; they're giant, huggably soft, demon plushies. I had half my account full of them for a while. But these, whatever you want to call her style, come across as having lumpy fatty deposits more like mammals than reptiles. In essence, it just comes across as wrong. After bothering to figure out what the other species were, I realize that I don't like any of the common colors. They're the redundant species I never liked that all look like cat things, except that the bear thing that looks like a cat thing has rabbit feet now, and the rabbit thing has just never been cute.

I actually quite like the Kerubi, I just think the proportions of its face are slightly off. Nose too long? Or too pointy? Or something else entirely? I'm not sure. (I like the DM one, too. But I don't own any Kerubis, so I don't think I count. ^_^)

Not really on the topic of the new and shiny pets (none of which really grab me as a 'need it' pet, but all of which are pretty - I am a little tempted by the kanis), but I finally got the chance to galactify Starshine today...

I'm not sure what I'll do if the spectrum kora turns out to be as awesome as this one. Buy more pets, I suppose.

Edit: Actually, despite the 'my friend says it looks like a dragon so yah boo sucks to you' controversy, I do really like the dragon. I often find myself forgetting about pets I don't own, and then being surprised when they impress me. I love the dragon sitting on the revamped Ian Asmodeus' shoulder, and this seems much in the same vein.

Are there more Galactic pets yet? I can't tell, since Subeta and SubetaDB are still both DEAD for me. T_T

Subeta, I hate you so much.

So I'm not the only one who still cannot get onto the site?

I guess it's a good thing I wasn't planning on more Galactic pets. Although I admit that I am sorely disappointed by the utter lack of Galactin Demi and Sheeta. These new pets are pretty, though; I like them collectively much more than last month's batch.

You do realize spectrum kora already exists, don't you? ;)
