For great justice, part 2
In case you've not got bored of clicking and submitting what you think, today's new feature* is a Subeta colour rating system. You can rate all Subeta pets on a scale of 1-5, 1 being the worst and 5 the best. Tell me if you get any errors - I know that the header/footer links are all wrong, but the rest is meant to be working okay.
Things I don't want to change for now:
- you can only get a pet randomly, can't go through species or colours. This cuts down the amount of backend coding.
- you have to click to go onto the next pet. This is not desirable, but it was the easiest way to do it.
- you can only vote once per pet and it's connected to your forum login. That's deliberate, to stop people ballot-stuffing.
Once again, results will be printed once there are enough of them for analysis to be practical. Have fun! Here's the page:

*Enjoy my productivity while it lasts, because there's certainly not going to be anything new tomorrow

I think 1-10 would have been a better scale, but I'm not too bothered, it's just fun rating pets. I suppose I just have troubles rating something quite average a 3 because I would rarely give a pet a five. I'll get over it.
Oh can the results pages be much like they were before? I think they went:
Top 10 Pets/Top 10 Worst Pets/ Top 10 Colours/Top 10 Worst Colours/Top 10 Species/Top 10 Worst Species
Then they also had your personal versions of those categories above. Yet again the statistical side of me would like to see those.
Also when species/colours get revamped are you able to put them up for re-polling? I suppose that would take a while to do, but right now the Feli and Velosotor might score quite low with me, but when they are revamped I'll want to change my votes.
Will this ever close? Part of what I liked with the Neopets version was that each time a new pet was released I could go and rate it. I believe this will probably take too much of a big thing to update, especially as someone who doesn't play Subeta.
Oh final question, are the Experiments in this rating thing? I can probably find that out myself soon actually.
Sorry for all the questions, but this was actually quite a big feature to me when Neopets had a version, but I understand someone else coded it didn't they?

It should be pointed out that when I tested it at various points during the coding (the irony does not escape me) I kept getting pets you drew. I think the first three I got were all you-pets. I did wonder for a while whether you were Subeta's sole artist ;0)Aqua wrote:Yay. :D *does lots of voting*

My hand is tired now. Jazzy, the navigational links at the top of the page are broken -- instead of leading to http://www.neocolours.me.uk/<page> they lead to <page>.

1-5 is a lot easier to store. This is already taxing the db in places, so keeping the numbers smaller helps to make things easier, and only having five radio buttons per page means a smaller HTML page than if there are ten.I think 1-10 would have been a better scale, but I'm not too bothered, it's just fun rating pets. Yes, already planned. Not personal statistics, though, because those aren't stored. I will be adding how many pets you've voted on, though.Oh can the results pages be much like they were before? I think they went:
Top 10 Pets/Top 10 Worst Pets/ Top 10 Colours/Top 10 Worst Colours/Top 10 Species/Top 10 Worst Species

Depends. I did plan to do this, but I'd forgotten one aspect of how I'm collecting the votes, which makes it an awful lot harder. Also when species/colours get revamped are you able to put them up for re-polling? I suppose that would take a while to do, but right now the Feli and Velosotor might score quite low with me, but when they are revamped I'll want to change my votes.
It's fully automated. As long as people keep adding the new subeta pets to the db, they get added into the rating system. Will this ever close? I believe this will probably take too much of a big thing to update, especially as someone who doesn't play Subeta.
No, mainly because they don't have a proper colour and species.Oh final question, are the Experiments in this rating thing? I can probably find that out myself soon actually.
Yep, I know That's something I'll fix eventually, but not yet, in case I add anything to the header. My hand is tired now. Jazzy, the navigational links at the top of the page are broken -- instead of leading to http://www.neocolours.me.uk/<page> they lead to <page>.

...I keep trying to stop voting, but I can't. Agh. I have to stop at an even number of some sort...I tried with 100, then I accidentally passed that...but I don't think I'll be able to stop at 150 either. How many pet colours are there on subeta? If Adi already did over 600, this is bad news for me. I'll never be able to get offline.

Some of my conclusions:
I should be working on algebra books.
Scribble pets make me giggle foolishly.
I know they're not stored but I would like to see a list of everything that I rated at a 5 to use to pick my 13th pet. Please to magically be producing that for me. Yesyes.
There are some pets that I completely forget existed because I dislike them so much. See, e.g., dawn fester, most mallarchies, sun turdle.
I like some pets much more than I'd realized; the Celinox has very lovely recolors.
Darkonites and Hikeis would be really good if they got redrawn. Maybe the Malticorn, too.

Fun! It certainly is interesting, and it does make you think more than maybe you ought about, For instance, how great my indifference and disdain for popokos, darkonites, hikeis, mallarchies, festers, turdles, torreys, charlies, keetos, cadogres, devontis, lasirus, mortikings and ruffies. Whatnot.
Also, how much I want a telenine, how much I like the magnus, how well done the graveyard pets are, in many cases, despite my natural inclination towards disliking them, and how much I will forgive a pet if it has pretty colours (a lot), the weirdness that is the feli bat-wings (or the Anyu feet-wings), how cute terracoons and pherrets could be if they got a redraw.
