New Neopet Expressions
Wow... we actually have emotions now.
Here's a sad lutari to demonstrate (he's probably depressed because I haven't fed him, played with him, or logged into that account in nearly 6 months). The pets' expressions don't seem to show up on the user lookup, though.

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
I fed my lupe a bit of gross food to see for myself, and it worked on the little image like so:
Woo! I've been wanting emotions since it first came out.
Of course, she looks like he's had a black eye, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth
EDIT: Here's some more pictures of my neopets, sad as they are from being fed gross food. I'm a cruel owner, 'tis true.
Aww Look how cute he is with his tongue sticking out!

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
Oh, finally! Neopets, I have forgiven ye, though I still hold more loathe than I did in my blissful youth. Now that I know my pets will realize I'm there, and not stand staring... now then, to get used to this annoying new layout... And figure out what this "Customization" thingy is...

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
Augh, this is horrible. Now I actually have to feed all my pets unless I want them looking depressed on their lookups. This is most annoying for my main, which cannot access the soup kitchen. What a chore.
What I've always wanted Neopets (or any petsite) to do is have a few distinct emotion poses for each pet, and allow the user to choose which to display on a pet's lookup. That way you don't necessarily have to paint your pet Grey just to have an emo pet, for example.
Edit: apparently starvation causes my Halloween Bori's eyes to change from red to brown.

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
I just put all my pets in the Neolodge for 28 days at a pop. Although it's expired on all my lab accounts... I can see whether my pets all look depressed over there. :wanders off:Cyro wrote:Augh, this is horrible. Now I actually have to feed all my pets unless I want them looking depressed on their lookups. More sad pets:
EDIT: Oh! You can see them all sad on the lab page. I think the sad Aishas are adorable. Sad Eyries I can take or leave.
Anyone have ideas on how to get the angry image?
EDIT2: Well, you can try reading them books they hate. Anyone know what the book-hate formula is again?

Current Neomonia-ridden Ajumpers, mutant Techo. Poor guy's tongue isn't even gooey and green anymore...

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
You can also see them sad on abandon the pet page (if you don't have lab), and angry is used in the battledome (but be sure NOT to challenge inflatable balthazar).
Shame they couldn't add the feature for grandfathered pets where they get to keep their old sad, happy and angry poses for this but considering the amount of work this took, I guess it's understandable.
Angry
I find this sick one very amusing for some reason.

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
I *think* I get it. The URL of the sad image is:
http://pets.neopets.com/cpn/PETNAME/2/2.png
and for the angry image it's:
http://pets.neopets.com/cpn/PETNAME/3/2.png
normal is:
http://pets.neopets.com/cpn/PETNAME/1/2.png
Here are some more angry pets:
EDIT:
Oh, look, http://pets.neopets.com/cpn/PETNAME/1/1.png gives the Neoboard head shots, happy, sad, or angry as the first number dictates.
http://pets.neopets.com/cpn/PETNAME/5/1.png gives the pet with no face, which is a bit disturbing:
Why, what happens if you challenge Inflatable Balthazar?

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
Nothing really. Your neopet keeps the normal, happy face because it's not a "real" battle.Wingsrising wrote:Why, what happens if you challenge Inflatable Balthazar?
EDIT: Actually I seem to get angry faces with some pets and happy with others when battling him. Odd.

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
Ok, and http://pets.neopets.com/cp/PETNAME/4/2.png gives a DIFFERENT expression which is not the same as the normal sad expression, at least not on some pets:
The 2/2 expressions:
The 4/2 expressions:
Interesting. The 2/2 is definitely sad. Could the 4/2 be sick? Does someone have a sick pet they can check the image URL of?
EDIT: Yup, that's it: 4/2 is sick/beaten. Madge's sick pets are 4/2.
Snowager sad vs sick:

Eee! They did a better job with this than I expected - and I love we sort of get to 'pick' the expression. The sad face on the faerie bori is adorable - I wish it fit Llenesia better so I could give it to him xD

Re: Clothing/Customizable Neopets
This is way too fun:
Normal
Sad
Angry
Sick
Holy flurking schnit does Zamaritan (the Usul) look demented. The robot acara's a bit broken (I get normal acara eyes for any of the emotions beyond normal), but angry still doesn't look half bad.
