Glade Pets!
Re: Glade Pets!
The manchu is well done, and makes me grin. Loved the movie, and now have that song stuck in my head again. Great details, great expression, just great period.
The ruffie
WHOA
I despised the pet as a whole with the one exception of graveyard..(edit: Prior to this color). But that thing is so cute it makes my eyes hurt. Major major kudos to whichever artist is responsible for this one! The only nitpick..and this is miiiiiiiinor.. is the front paw, just above the dragonfly, looks really odd at the angle it's put in in relation to the elbow.
This is making it realllllly difficult not to use my potion. Trying to wait for more species to come out because hey, that thing was expensive and I only am doing one.
But gah! Must... have.... ruffie
Edited to clarify stuff that needed clarifying, so now it's been clarified.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Manchu looks like King Julien. It looks like it was intentional, too. I love it and I don't even like Madagascar. The little lizard (gecko?) on the branch is a great touch.
And here's the full-sized Ruffie for anyone who wanted to see it. Great job on both pets, Rah.

Re: Glade Pets!
I like the pose for the Ruffie, though ...it looks a bit off. The front paws especially, they look too bent in, the backright leg looks too small. This makes the entire lower half of the body appear to be small compared to the head, which is much larger.
The manchu is very well done , though. Better at fullsize.

Re: Glade Pets!
I love the ruffie's smug, happy look. And a dragonfly! yayyyyy! And the flowers are stunning--especially in the large view. The purple one on its knee--look at all that perfect shading! And are those light pink-white ones dogwood flowers? All the real, recognizable flowers are done so well. They've been "real flowers" on some other pets before, too, but not always done as well. And not always dogwood.
The manchu is great, too, and I don't like manchus. I also haven't seen that movie. Love the level of detail, though.

I didn't like the movie Madagascar and the head Lemur 'king something or other' was a huge ass.
I thought Lemur Kingdom was the inspiration for the Manchu

Re: Glade Pets!
I love King Julian. That said, I'm not really into the manchu. I've never really liked them to begin with, and didn't even notice the reference to Madagascar until you guys pointed it out (although, look! There's Stevie!), and it's still kinda hazy in my mind. :/ The ruffie is better. The pose is cute. The only thing that's keeping me from loving it is the face. Just looks weird to me for some reason.
Re: Glade Pets!
I'm quite impressed with the Manchu. I noticed right away that it was based on the Madagascar lemur guy and I am particularly happy that the resemblance is mostly in the face and expression rather then props. (As in, it would still look like him if it didn't have the hat, but wouldn't look like him if it had a different expression). Well done to the artist.
The Ruffie is pretty good. I like that the muscle-brows are downplayed in this pose. Probably one of my favorite of the new Ruffies. My one complaint is the awkward front leg that others have already noted, but it's easily ignorable.
Overall, this is shaping up to be a rather excellent color. I'm a little curious who came up with the pink iris/yellow sclera combo. It reminds me a little of the design I did for Keshi's character contest (which is a good thing).

Re: Glade Pets!
I really think the Glade Wyllop would have been much better with only two toadstools instead of three. Call me a perv, but I don't think any drawing in that pose should have a mushroom over its crotch. XD Other than that, I really like it. Its face is especially adorable, and I really love the "shelf fungus" type stuff on its legs that you see on tree trunks. Also, it has a ladybug on it. Yay, ladybugs!
The Ruffie is oh-so adorable in that "RUB MY BELLY!" kind of way, but the dragonfly is distracting me. It seems less like it belongs with the pet and more like it's zooming through the frame, hell-bent on something that is just out of sight to the right (ZOMG CHOCOLATE CAKE?!?!). On the other hand, this makes me lol, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

Re: Glade Pets!
Two new Glade pets, Torrent and Pherret -
Love love love the Torrent, I was wondering how they were going to do underwater pets but I think this looks great. I love the little fish swimming around it, they're so cute ^^ And the flowing tail and fin are lovely. Beautiful artwork and a beautiful pet!
The Pherret is really nice, too, I like all the flowers, it looks very colourful. The pose is cute also.

OH OH OH, THE TORRENT. It has BETTAS around it! omg omg. I love it!
The Pherret looks great, but the butterfly on it's head is really distracting and it's ruining it for me. I probably would have liked it better if it was on top of it's head instead of flying in front of it or whatever it's doing.

Re: Glade Pets!
Ohh wow, both of these are lovely
The Torrent with the fish is just amazing, and I love how the little green mossy patches are floating in the current. I think it might have been nifty to have coral or anemones in place of the flowers, but it's still lovely as is. I think the smile looks a bit cartoony or something. I love the big happy eyes though I want one!
The Pherret is also ohh so lovely. He just looks so happy and sweet, and kinda like he's dancing. What an amazing batch of Glades!

Larger Glade Torrent. I can't find the Pherret yet.
Betas instead of butterflies = instant love. Awesome job, Arbor.

Re: Glade Pets!
I'm almost sorry these two came out together, because the brilliance and differentness of the Torrent -- seriously: amazing -- seem to be outshining the Pherret, which, now that I look at it again, is really beautifully drawn and adorable.

Re: Glade Pets!
I'll buck the trend: the Torrent isn't working for me. Not because there's anything wrong with the art, but just because the water-creature-covered-with-flowers thing doesn't quite compute for me.
The Pherret is adorable. I like the butterfly on the face.

Re: Glade Pets!
At least they're water flowers, so that's not as bad. Though I agree I kind of go "ack the flowers are drowning" and that diminishes it slightly. But it's a great compromise between normal-glade and underwater-pet, and I love the bullrushes! The part that really doesn't work for me is the face. That's a weird smile, hehe.
I think the pherret is great overall, but the upraised hind leg is bugging me. Makes me think of dogs peeing. I guess it's supposed to be in the middle of walking, but sometimes "action" poses bug me because it's more like a photograph than a pet actually sitting there.
