Revamped Chibi Hikei, Malticorn, and Keeto!

If only the new Hikei still had the declaw, it would be an utterly perfect revamp. I absolutely love everything else about it but that. Maybe if I can get a custom overlay that has the declaw, Junco might be this...

The Malticorn is also a solid revamp. The little curly hair on its' hind leg is a bit strange, but overall it's well done. I'm happy it went the route of keeping as much of the old intact as possible.

The Keeto I'm split on. The old art was outdated, but I rather liked the pose. Something seems off in the new one's pose, almost like it just got dropped on it's head rather then merely laying there. The face is rather cute though, and the I really like the coloring/shading.

NK originally drew the chibi hikei with a dewclaw actually, but it was decided that none of the other hikeis had one, and it was an inconsistent addition to the species. I bet she still has the dewclaw'd version though if you wanted to ask her about an overlay! She loved it too xD

I'm so glad the hikei kept the same basic essence, although I miss the dewclaw too. I always kind of wanted one of those, but never got one for fear of revamp. And the malticorn is pretty much the same but better, so that's a good revamp in my book.

The keeto is a ridiculous amount of change. I don't like the dynamics of the pose, I don't think it fills out the square well, and I don't like the eyes, which look as if they've been pushed into its head, probably because of the darkness. The ears are nice, but... wow, overall, I don't like it. That's a hell of a change, and I don't like most of the details now. I'm glad I didn't own one. If I had, I'd have to change it immediately. It also seems disrespectful of current chibi keeto owners to change the pet so dramatically.

I'm glad that the hikei and malticorn pretty much stayed the same. That and the malticorn isn't cross-eyed anymore and gained those adorable spots.

But of course the one that got the most change is the one I actually own. I've been so happy with the Keeto revamps lately because most of them stayed the same and I was hoping the chibi would do the same. Heilos actually did an overlay for me sometime ago using the old pose, just updated, so I can't really understand why it needed such a drastic change. It is possible to use the old pose.

Look ma! Two eyes!

The attitude did a total flip. I mean if the chibi keeto was like this back when I was picking, I would have skipped over it because it wasn't the attitude I was looking for. Also I agree that it looks like it got dropped on its head instead of just laying there. Oh well, I'll get over it. I just wasn't expecting such a drastic change.

Here's the Hikei with the declaw. NK was really sweet, as she added the declaw just now to the finished version as the original was just lineart. Thanks NK!

Wow. I'm pretty shocked at how well the Hikei turned out. I miss the adorable little hand-paw-feet of the old one, but wow--this one is actually... cute? And well drawn. It's front feet are a mess, but that seems to be a given on Hikeis. The rest of it though--damn! That is some serious adorableness and quality art. Why can't more revamps be like this?

Some solid revamps. None of these are pets I'd want, but the artwork was done very nicely.

The Hikei's really adorable, though I agree the dewclaw was a cute addition to the original. I've never liked Malticorns so it doesn't really do anything for me, but it's a good revamp I suppose.

It's very bizarre that the Keeto had such a drastic revamp. The other two tried to keep the original pose and feel of the pet, but the Keeto is nearly a 180 in difference.

I actually like the new Chibi Keeto. It actually looks like a baby version of the original pet, rather than "Common Keeto"-colored bunny rabbit like the original version.

I like the Hikei, but the feet.. not so much. Malticorn is adorable, actually makes me want one now!
I dislike the Keeto very much, though. It's alright art, but the pose just seems.. very awkward to me :/.

The old Chibi Keeto looked nothing like a Keeto, so I'm glad this one was revamped. :) The Hikei is great as well.

However, the old chibi Malticorn was my LEAST fav. pet ever. Mostly because of the association I made with one of the most selfish, cocky, assholesque users ever, who had...two or three of them. And a user profile. And, a forumset.

So, I'm glad the Chibi Malticorn was changed. That way, I won't think of that pain in the ass user anymore when I see it, which is AWESOME.

Therefore, out of the three revamps, it's obviously my fav.

Okay, the dark colors should have been black to match the common keeto. Other than that, I really don't think it looks "nothing like a keeto." Actually, it looks exactly like a keeto to me. Distinctive feet, white stripes in the right places, red eye(s), properly shaped tail, chest ruff, cute ears, fluff coming off the cheeks and top of the head. Color in general. If anything, the problem with the old chibi keeto is that it looked too much like a regular keeto. I guess it needed a bigger head. (SEC, they're not baby versions of the pets; they're more like small caricatures of the pets.)

I have no opinion on the hikei and the malticorn, other than to say I hope Fjorab likes the hikei, as I know how attached she was to hers. So I hope this turns out alright.

The malticorn remains one of my least favorite pets on the site, but there was nothing, short of a massive change of the entire pet, that could cure that. I despise overly cutesy, big-headed, reminiscent of Neo's babies chibis and this is one of the worst offenders. But change enough to please me would've been a slap in the face to all of the current owners, so I'm glad the world doesn't revolve around my wishes. xD

But speaking of giving the finger to current owners - it's about the keeto. >.< I mind the massive personality change way more than I mind the pose change. The new one is all 'scratch under my chin, pweese?' while the old one was all 'scratch me under my chin and I will CUT you.'. That's a major change in attitude and personality, and is likely to not go well with current owners, whose pet changed completely overnight.

And it really does look like it's just been dumped on its head - or maybe is lying on stairs, with its head one stair lower than its body. But it almost makes my omg-falling!vertigo twinge a bit. And what, exactly, about the old one 'looked nothing like a keeto'? Aside from the black markings Ty pointed out, the rest looks exactly like a keeto to me too.

The first thing I think of when I look at the old Chibi Keeto is "rabbit". It's partially because of the pose, and partially because of the facial expression (I think it's the nose and the accompanying dots that do it), but it really reminds me of rabbits that freeze the instant you see them in the wild. Plus, the pose just seems awkward. Like its back leg is hanging over the edge of something while the front legs are tucked in.

As for what exactly the "chibi" color is, some of the Chibi pets look like toddler versions of the common pets, for instance, the Aeanoid, Magnus (which is distinctively happier-looking than its Common self), Kora, and Ontra, as opposed to super-deformed versions (such as the Ruffie). The new Keeto decided to take this position, too.

The Hikei and Malti are good updates. Neither that I'd ever own, but now I can stand to look at the Malti without gagging at the awful, dated art. But it's still a Malticorn, and will remain my least favorite species. I'm glad the pose for the Hikei wasn't changed.

The Keeto...Oh Martel, I am unhappy to see it be redrawn in a different pose. I thought the original pose was so cute! Compared to the other Chibis, I loved looking at the Chibi Keeto. Not a pet I'd own, but it was still one of my favorite Keetos. I really wish Keshi had kept the pose the same and just updated the shading and colouring. Needless to say, I just don't know what to make of this new pose. While upside down pets are unique, funny, and cute, this one just doesn't seem right. It looks flat, personally. It's throwing me off with it being upside down, and not in a good way. Like Kamil said, it looks like someone dropped it on it's head. Sorry Keshi, I just don't love it as much as I used to now.

I think im in the minority here and actually love the updated keeto XD then again I didn't care too much about the previous one to begin with, though Chin I know how much you love it since I did that overlay *hugs*

I personally like all 3 of these, the hikei is probably my fav out of the bunch, looks a lot better when the other toe is added back in though

I'm neutral on the malticorn mostly but I'm sure whoever owns one is happy with the update.

I think I remember one of the artists talking about how they tried to keep the old pose but it just wasn't working and in a way I can see why, I personally find that back foot very awkward to begin with so I do understand why it might have needed a new pose. But yeah it is a big change to current owners so I can see both sides of why people either love it or hate it.
