Neocolours' News Updates

Custard and Candy Kiko

I'm not a fan of Custard to star with, but this one has to take the cake. The hands look like they have gloves on and, despite a couple dribbles over them do not look much like they're made of custard at all. The band aid does not help matters.

When I first saw Candy, I thought it was Dimensional. I'm still not sure what to make out of it. I mean, it's nice and glittery but I'm having a hard time figuring out what type of candy it's supposed to be - other than it's grape flavoured.

Biscuit and Eventide Tuskaninny

Biscuit is pretty boring. No chips (except, maybe, the nose), barely any colour change. I mean, the transition around the muzzle is nice and the darker hair is okay, but without chips it looks like it's made out of some kind of sand.

Eventide is similarly not exciting. They put the stars on the head and tried to make the nose stand out, but it's really nothing spectacular.

Marble and Pastel Ixi

Marble looks very nice. The spotted pattern and translucence is good. I like that they kept the pattern for the collar.

Pastel is gorgeous. I think I may even get an Ixi to make it that colour. The use of cream on lavender is great and the blues fit in perfectly!

Ice and Dimensional Flotsam

Ice looks very interesting. The form has lots of neat angles within it that show off light and shade just like one might expect from ice without having a blocky exterior.

Glowing is pretty nice overall. It does what's expected and has an interesting colour.

Stealthy and Transparent Acara

Stealthy looks pretty nice. I'll admit I never quite got what the extra spiky stuff has to do with the colour other than, maybe, hinting at ninja things or extra cool points, but it does look nice.

Transparent is very nice. Someone did a really great job with anatomy!

Ice and Eventide Kau

Ice has a good amount of blockiness to it - not too much but not too little either. It has semi-translucence in places which really add to its appeal.

eventide is also very well done. I especially like the stars on the head and horns which has some larger ones almost as if they're part of a constellation. I like that the bell continues the colour scheme. I'm less sure about the hooves. Somehow the yellow doesn't quite work there for me.

It's interesting to see that both have bells, which is not always the case with Kaus.

Biscuit and Candy Nimmo

Apparently they haven't been feeding the artists again.

The Biscuit Nimmo looks very nice. I love the use of chocolate as warts. The darker bits work very nicely as well.

The Candy Nimmo also looks very tasty! I love the bits of shine on the body and the stripes are very well-done!

Elderly Quiggle

There's something off about the Elderly Quiggle Boy. I can't see it and not think it's a female in a jogging suit. I mean, the whole looks good, but I wish I knew why I think it's female.

The Elderly Girl is cute. I think the swirls are an interesting touch, though I'm not sure what they're supposed to represent or why the boy doesn't have them too.

Overall I think these are both nice and work very well. Other thoughts and opinions can be made here.

Polka Dot and Pastel Jubjub

Polka Dot is very cute, but I'm not thrilled over the orange eyebrows and feet. They certainly stand out and add a bit more colour, but somehow they also don't quite fit in for me. Maybe if they had been a bit more faded...

Pastel is very nice. I like the faded colours on eyes and feet. I also like that the eyes and eyebrows are similarly coloured (rather than another case of orange eyebrow).

Maractite and Polka Dot Yurble

Maractite looks nice. It has very nice markings and the smooth mane makes for a good break.

Polka Dot is about par for the course. I do think they made a nice decision with the red mane. I could easily see it getting a big red noes and clown clothes.

Marble and Relic Koi

Marble is very nice. I particularly like how the rainbow swirl continues down into the tail.

Relic is okay, but the dark lines really make the body of the Koi stand out too much.

Custard and Jelly Moehog

Custard has the usual slimy bits and pieces that look like dried mustard. Much like the Custard Bori, the eyes are not actually coloured Custard to match.

Jelly is appropriately translucent. It's a soothing orange colour to boot.

Biscuit and Custard Hissi

Biscuit is pretty nice overall. The texture saves it from looking too much like Brown and the use of chocolate for the spots really works very well.

Custard is custard. It's okay for what it does. The eyes have a bit of colour that sets them apart and the pinkish mouth is interesting.I do like that the artist took the time to 'melt' the spots a bit.

Clay and Dimensional Lupe

Clay is okay, but from a distance it looks like Woodland sans leaves. I think it's all that texture on the chest and tail.

Dimensional is nice. The lighter, glowy bits are interesting. The nose looks like some kind of neon light, which is pretty nifty.

Elderly Cybunny

The Elderly Boy is quite snazzily dressed, but those liver spots look really odd on fur. Similarly, the Elderly Girl has a very cute outfit and look, but those spots just seem very odd.
