Re: Possible Hikei revamp
Well... it's better than the original and the first polled revamp (yikes!).
I won't say that I like it, but it's definitely tolerable.

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
So I was browsing the forums a bit ago and learned that the artist who drew the latest Hikei revamp isn't on staff anymore.
We could be waiting a long while for the Hikei revamp

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
Well we don't necessarily know if she got kicked off staff or if she quit, or went on sabbatical, or anything like that :P it's probably not a good idea to assume about that kind of thing.
Re: Possible Hikei revamp
DNA and Luxe are trialing for new artists, to find out who is best suited for the Hikei, we should have a new one by the end of the month (by the end of the month, I mean September). You won't be waiting too long c:
I would share why she is no longer an artist so that people don't have to make assumptions but that is definitely private, and only the artist can share that information unfortunately.

Aww that's a shame, I didn't know they were no longer on the staff, but I do hope you find another artist sometime soon ^^
Re: Possible Hikei revamp
The only thing I didn't like about it was the snout. And the fact that it looks like it doesn't have a forehead. D:

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
New proposed revamp. Poor Hikei doesn't look much like a Subeta pet anymore.
I really really don't like it. It completely changes the personality and overall body structure of the original Hikei.
Nothing on this version seems to fit well together in my opinion. The hind feet are just strange and I feel the front legs are too knobby, even for a horse. The tails lost their elegance and remind me of the Koras, which is fine in Koras but no so much here. The body itself seems far to much like a squat rectangle. Its very short and fat, with no shape to it. Yes, the original Hikei didn't have much of a shape, but it just seems much more pronounced here. Also, why are they so grey now?

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
I was going to make a new topic for this entirely, but since Seerow posted before me xD I thought I'd at least add that since the old Hikei artist isn't on staff anymore, the old poses won't be used... so that's why they weren't polled.
I actually like this one, heh. I like the hair xD I want to ruffle it up. I rather like the face too. But I hate pretty much everything about the old Hikei, and I could see where old Hikei owners might not like this so much.
I think the front legs look a little lumpy, and the tail looks... misplaced. It's not extending from the tailbone like a tail should and is just kind of... pasted on its butt. But I actually like it xD;
I do agree with you though, Seerow, that it looks REALLY really grey. It makes it look kind of dull.

Overall, I like this. I actually like the front legs, they actually look like they could bend, unlike the last proposed revamp. I also like the ears, they are the best ears of any of the proposed revamps.
I don't care for the toes however, they look strange being so dark. I think what bothers me about the tails is that they are so thick, yet the orbs are rather small.

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
Ergh no, I really don't like the grey or how flat it's bottom half is. The shading seems to get worse from our left to right. I would like this if it had the colours of the last proposed revamp and decent shading, the pose is fine for me.
Re: Possible Hikei revamp
The main thing that jumped out at me was how small the tails/orbs are. The body also looks slightly odd but I can't tell if it's just because the whole pet is small and kind-of squashed or if it's to do with how it's positioned. :-/ Maybe the positioning because the head is covering most of the back and makes it look really short. The front legs also do look a bit strange.
I still voted for this version, though. Just seems more appealing than the old one though I don't really 'like' it.

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
I like it, actually. o_O The hind quarters need to be more.. round (similar to the previous revamp proposal) and I agree that the tail looks too small. But as it is, I wouldn't mind if it became an actual pet.

Re: Possible Hikei revamp
Ehh, it's so gray... what is with the nasty lack of shading?? Its body is also completely misshapen; it no longer looks like the cute, compact adorable animal that the second proposed revamp did so well. I don't like the mane at all. Instead of the zebra-like straight brush mane it had before, now it looks like it just got a bad buzz-cut. Seriously, wtf? I don't like this at all. It's no longer cute, and I love Hikeis for their cuteness. They better not touch my Hydrus or Reborn babies if the Hikei ends up looking like this thing.
