The topic was worth reviving to note how terrifying this thing is. A lot of things creep me out about it. But I think the hands really seal the deal. They're just wrong.
I hadn't noticed how creepy the shoyru is. I was mostly caught up in how the shop is called "The Coffee Cave" and was located in a tunnel system, but it is now bright and cheery. I liked the idea of a dark, slightly creepy cave where you could get your coffee fix late at night (because obviously a subterranean shop isn't limited to normal sunlit hours), not a country bed-and-breakfast cutesy coffee shop.
Also, the gravity well of that coffee stein is impressive. (aka What the heck is going on there?!)
