It doesn't look at all like a heart...

A human heart's a lot more complex than just a buncha tubes coming off a blob of muscle. I have to agree with Silver; it looks nothing like a heart. Now, the colors in that diagram are similar. But they only draw it that way to make it easier for students to identify structures. A heart in vivo looks nothing like that.
(This is the best photo I could find of a real heart, and it's not that great... looks like they cut off the major arteries and veins. I wanted one of an open heart surgery where you could see the heart's placement in the chest, but couldn't find one that was terribly clear. This will have to do. )

I didn't. Biology-nerd here--I have always taken my subject perhaps a bit too seriously, and love to point out when people are wrong. That, and it was a good excuse for me to gross people out. By Phoebe's reaction, I can see my work here is done. Carry on.AngharadTy wrote:It... it's just a joke... it's funny that it looks like a textbook-heart. I laughed.

True, true. I'll admit I didn't get the joke at first, so that makes me look a little silly. But, eh! Nice to meet a fellow scientist!AngharadTy wrote:I am a biology nerd, too; really, my love is paleontology, which means I get the best of both geology and biology.
If you can't laugh at yourself, then you've got nothing.
And, yeah, a human organ would make a cool neopet... maybe a Mutant of some kind?

My heart looks exacly like that... especially the two glistening black pits of evil in the middle. Seriously, when it first came out I thought it looked like a textbook drawing of a heart, with all the tubes and stuff. Or a lady in hair rollers.Silverevilchao wrote: It doesn't look at all like a heart...
