I knew an ex-police dog who did "bang" as a supposedly life-saving "trick" for its job. I dunno if that's standard, but man, you tell a group of kids that a dog "dies" when you say "bang" and all you're going to hear for the next hour is BANG BANG BANG FIDO BANG!
Wiki explains all? This is one of those interesting thoughts that I never remember to look up, along with other weird sayings like "the birds and the bees". There are a couple different answers, and while I'm not sure how truthful they may or may not be, they still make sense.
Well he's not exactly my dog, he's a dog at the shelter I work at. But I thought this picture was too funny to pass up and here seems as good a place as any to post it!
If old dogs with cataracts disturb you, don't open the spoiler.
Look at that tongue!
He's roughly 16 years old, has no teeth, is blind in his left eye and nearly blind in his right. He doesn't look like a dog that's for sure. It's hard to tell from the picture, but he's got an upturned pig nose and face, sheep fur, and bat ears. In short he's a Batpig. His name is Pigby, taken from the pig's name in Pushing Daisies.
I thought it was about time I show off my baby, Lute. I have some of the cutest pics of him. He's such a ham so they are easy to get. Here are a couple of the most recent ones.
We were shifting around bookshelves in the den. To do so we had to take the books off first. Well Lute decided to make it his bad and crawled right in. XD He's a nut. He just loves laying in corners.
This is one of my favorite pictures of him, heh! Such good timing on it. And look! You can see my feet in the background. XD
