NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
I know it's early in the month but as no one had started a topic, I thought I'd better! In case you're not aware, NaNoWriMo (or National Novel Writing Month) is an international event where people attempt to write a 50,000 word novel (so around the size of The Great Gatsby) in the 30 days of November.

Who's started? Unfortunately Sunday is a very busy day for me because of church so I think I will have a lot of catching-up tomorrow!

Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
I'm actually participating this year! I only have a thousand words or so right now, but the night's still young where I am. I'm trying to aim for 2000 words a day just so I can be ahead in the event that I have to skip a day for one reason or another.
Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
I'm continuing the story I won with last year, which apparently makes me a Nano Rebel. Whoo. Haven't actually started writing yet, but I'm off until Friday, and once I get into, I can type fast so I should make a lot of progress. My account is here if anyone's interested.
Good luck, guys.

This is me. I don't think I'll finish because I'm swamped with schoolwork, but I got a good start yesterday. It's my first time doing this too.

me on NaNo
Most of you already know that I am a NaNo veteran, haha. I've been doing it since 2003, and won for the first time in 2004 - so this is my seventh year as an active participant. I'm very very excited about my story this year and have been looking forward to NaNo for MONTHS - as Ty, Seerow, and Chelsea can all tell you xD I have a pretty good start going to my novel so far.

I'm kind of fail at Nano, because I always tend to get started really late because Halloween always leaves me exhausted. But I'm trying again this year, with a revival of an old pokemon fanfiction idea I had years ago. My novel is called Passionate Rivalry: Hoenn Saga. You've got me beat, I'm only 180 words. I've been bowled over by homework and haven't really gotten time to just sit and write. I really suck at nano.

I'm at a little over 25k , but that was after having five glorious days off work to do nothing but write. Since going back to work yesterday I've wrote an awesome 1.5k. HOping to drag Lindsey out for coffee tonight to get some done.

I was wondering how you wrote so much so quickly! Now I don't feel so bad about just barely keeping up with the recommended daily goal. =P
Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
I'm not even keeping up with the daily goal XD Too much schoolwork, and I'm dreading the next arc of my story -- it's not really planned out.

I should have added that I'm fortunate enough to not have a significant amount of work this month, which is why I even bothered to attempt NaNoWriMo this year in the first place. I can't even imagine trying to write a story while I'm also in school, so I give props to everyone here competing with schoolwork and similar loads: you're already further than I ever got.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
Officer, it helps that I just really enjoy my story this year, so I've definitely pulled ahead in word count because of that. Yesterday was a high word count day for me because I realized I was writing a scene I thoroughly enjoy! It was a good day.
Also, my goal for NaNo this year wasn't to just write 50k words, but to finish my novel. I'm looking at 60-65k, I think.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
Having time off really helped me as well, though by the third day I felt like I'd run out of steam. Being that far ahead is also making me a little lax about writing daily. :-/ Didn't do anything yesterday, but just sat down and made myself write 1000 words of sheer crap. What I'm really craving right now is a fight scene, but I'm not sure if I can fit one into my story right now.

Re: NaNoWriMo 2009 Support Thread!
I-I did it. o_o I wasn't even sure I could, but there they are. 50,000+ words.
I'm no where near the actual end of the story, but I'll get back to that in a few weeks. For now I'm going to take a break and revel in the fact that holy crap I actually met the goal!!1!
It looks like Jessibean and Alecko both got past 50k words, so congrats to you both! And congratulations to everyone else in here who wrote words down, period.
